I'm about to drop some money on a power sipper for web browsing, netflix, and HD content at the lowest possible price. I haven't decided yet but would like to also hold 2-4 HDDs for more storage. I'll keep an eye on these for sure.

Right now I feel really stupid using my gaming rig to type this comment... hehehe

Yeah. Truly, one of my finer moments. Then again, I did get modded to +8 for my failure, somehow. Perhaps my rapid admission of error?

[citation][nom]infernuscy[/nom]is it possible to create a small cheap server for minecraft with this ?[/citation]
I suppose it should be possible. Minecraft servers are usually more limited by memory than by CPU cycles. If you keep the server small, as you say, and have enough memory, I'd imagine it would work out fine. Do some reading online about the needed performance, or even ask in the forums.

Hosting a Minecraft server on an APU is a waste - the server isn't going to use the GPU, so half of the APU is worthless.

You can snag an Athlon II X2 250 for $60 off Newegg and its clocked at 3Ghz, and it has twice the L2 cache (though this won't generally make much of a difference). Same TDP, too.

^Indeed, there are better options on the table for setting up a dedicated minecraft server in the same price envelope. Unless you want the computer to be functional outside of its server role, I'd do what he suggested and get a cheap chip, with a cheap motherboard (with integrated graphics) and as much memory as is appropriate for the number of players you want to host.
