[citation][nom]eddieroolz[/nom]I was going "YAY!" but I saw it was for Opterons only so far. But things are indeed pacing along for AMD.[/citation]
the desktop BD will be the FX series, 8 core unlocked, can find the video on youtube already :)

[citation][nom]killerclick[/nom]Zambezi is going to be a disappointment, not because AMD sucks but because Intel is so good. In two years time ARM will be their only competitor.[/citation]
Are you working for Intel? did they pay you to post stupid comments? Read some IT history, dude! I realy hope Zambezi will make you bite your keyboard

[citation][nom]dontcrosthestreams[/nom]first it was june 1st, july 30, aug 30, sept 19, sept 23, now October ? wtf someone needs to be fired.[/citation]
Someone was. They got a new CEO.

[citation][nom]classzero[/nom]pre and post Athlons, AMD disappoints. Unfortunately I have to use an AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4400+ 2.31Ghz until my internship is over. Only Full time employees in this IT dept. get Intel (Lucky B@57@rd5).[/citation]

Hope you learn how to properly write bastards by the end of your internship.

Wikipedia calls it a "family of instruction set architectures". We can nitpick over semantics, but that's beside the point.

Hope? When there is nothing else left!

[citation][nom]beenthere[/nom]I just laugh...AMD is one of the few tech companies that has according to some folks: "Been going out of business" for the past 35+ years. AMD isn't going anywhere any time soon. They will keep delivering excellent products and continue to frustrate Intel who has tried every illegal tactic they could think of to destroy AMD - without success. Consumers are the winners. Few people actually need the faster desktop CPU. Buy what makes you happy. For many folks that will be Bulldozer.[/citation]

I think AMD will be around for a long time to come. It would be nice to see some sort of effort from AMD on the marketing side of things, but it could just end up being wasted dollars (tv time). I held on to a Q6600 for 5 years. You can't go wrong with any SB product, and pretty soon we'll know how AMD stacks up. If you went with a nice SB though, I doubt you'd feel like you should have waited a little longer. It'll probably all even out more or less across the spectrum of programs and workloads.

Hi Herr_Koos :hello: . Time will tell alright. It is only the server range that has been shown to be released here on this article. Not the desktop range yet & quite a lot of people with their posts up are acting as if it was desktops that have been released. :pt1cable: I got to own up,within the last six months I have bought a whole lot of Intels sandy bridge & cougar point gear. 😉 So I don't think that I will be buying any of amd's gear, even when they bring out the desktop processors. :sol: Any way like you say, time will tell if the bulldozer will harm anything at all of intels, especially since around the six to seven months period, ivy bridge & panther point will be out. :)

I can see you would go far running a company. "I don't purchase for performance." Uh ya.

Peeps that buy AMD since the release of C2D in '06 do it for a few reasons....those being they can't afford an Intel, they live in a third world country and aren't able to find an Intel in their local market, or they aren't the quickest blokes in the world and they would rather get lousy performance instead of spending a few bucks more so they don't get bottlenecked by their cpu.

You keep on buying AMD when it's sucking hind end. For myself, I will purchase whatever brand of cpu that performs the best. And that "bang for the buck" excuse...ya it only goes so far. Iv'e been reading that on here for close to five years now from peeps who won't buy anything but AMD. They are still waiting for the second coming of Christ.

So what's going to come first... BD or Trinity? lol. I mean seriously, how many months now have peeps been saying BD is coming out in a few weeks? Iv'e been reading it for months now.

Hi NightLight :hello: . I'm an Intel man myself to tell the truth :sol: ,but occasionally I do buy some amd gear (every 2 years approximately) just to see how amd runs in a system. To tell the truth though, lately amd has been trying to score big,by claiming to be able to out do intel. :pt1cable: So far they have not come close to knocking off intels processors yet. :sol:

Ok folks lets be honest here. The real reason why AMD fan boys champion AMD processors is not because of any ideological or competitive reasons. It's simply because they are young, still live with their parents and cannot afford to buy INTEL. The moment they get a job, get laid, move out, live a little a make some money then INTEL will no longer be viewed as the enemy and they will soon forget all about AMD. Very few people do it for ideological reasons. Don't worry. They will grow out of it and move on to INTEL.

I bet amd president and co president have intel powered main computer. Amd is like the dollard store, cheap and copy the real product. i gotta go, i have some english class

OK, I am getting sick of this. I am an AMD fan from way back but these constant delays are starting to turn AMD into the Duke Nukem Forever of CPU's. They are a freakin joke. At this rate I'll never have the chip in time for my latest mod to debut. I've been waiting for my bulldozer CPU (and spending a ton of money in preparation for) for quite some time and AMD needs to know how many of their customers they are losing to Intel right now.
I don't know how many die hard AMD fans I've talked to that finally resorted to i5, (and probably happier for it) but it is more than I can count on my fingers and toes.

AMD, I'm sorry but you know what? YOU SUCK!!! Just give up and go home because no one has any faith in you anymore.

I'm married, earn a decent salary and hit the big 30 next year, and I've been using AMD for 15 years. How's your theory doing so far?

It is fantastic how easy it is to pick the fan-boys from the realists; nevertheless great seeing AMD getting back on the horse (not that they were ever off xP).

This is definitely taking way too long. I think the suspense and anticipation is practically killing a lot of enthusiasts out here. Is it just me, or has AMD done this before? I could've sworn AMD was talking about "K10" forever before Phenom came out. At least it felt like that for me then. 'course, it seemed entirely too long for listening about "Sandy Bridge," too... Maybe it's just that months of hype is too much for new architectures? 😉

At any rate, hopefully the desktop counterparts will follow shortly... And, of course, the all-anticipated benchmarks. C'mon AMD, we're tired of waiting for our newest benchmark fix!
