[citation][nom]PrivateForAWhile[/nom]AMD is ripe for a buyout by a private equity firm. AMD for its x86 license, and leading GPUs should be enough to keep them from ever going under! This would remove the short term profit motive that a publicly held company has, and allow AMD management and design to focus on the long term goal of finding a market for its CPU products, post losing the CPU power race with Intel! A private equity firm, with deep pockets and long term goals, is just what AMD needs at the present time. AMD should continue to work through the HSA foundation, that it created, to build the future computing platforms.[/citation]

Yeah and I was Trolled, Intel or Intel & nVida take over. There's several financial sites speculating the same as I'm saying. Examples:

TechSpot - http://www.techspot.com/news/49720-amd-stock-value-on-the-rise-following-buyout-chatter.html

Hell no! Definitely not a foreign company i.e. Korean, China, you name it.

If you think The DOJ is going to approve a takeover of AMD by Intel or Nvidia either directly or indirectly, then you do not know how the antitrust laws work. AMD has great value and poor luck and management, they are most likely going to be bought by a private equity firm, with no connections to Intel or Nvidia. AMD's creditors will make sure of this. The AMD stockholders will get bought out or face loseing most of the stocks remaining value! AMD's products have a good future and the right private equity firm is waiting in the wings. This has happened with the auto industry and it will happen with AMD. There is a need by private industry and the government to maintain competition in the CPU and high technology market, and AMD will have to be reworked to keep competition maintained!

while the stock prices of tech companies are relevant, it would really help if some who understood the stock market (maybe held a Series 7 a some point) would be the commentator

I just picked up 500 more shares. As long as AMD does not go under completely I'm willing to hold onto their stock for and indefinite amount of time until the price goes back above $8.

That is just assuming things. Amd has made quite a few great cpus and performance jumps over the years. And it is made all the more important to note that they did it with out the huge financial backing intel has.
