I don't feel safe with the idea of watercooling so i had to buy an aircooler obviously but my choices were limited to hyper 212x, hyper 412 or 612 v2 so i bought 612 v2 thinking that it will handle higher tdp cpus and will have great support for HEDT platforms in the future.

What confuses me is that 212 varients are now shipped with am4 bracket AND have support for TR4(why? XD) while 612 v2 am4 bracket needs to be ordered separately and it doesn't have any support for TR4 yet.

http://www.coolermaster.com/tdp-and-socket-compatibility/
on their website it says that 612 v2 and 212 both have 150w cooling capacity and dual fan 212 have 160w cooling capacity(does that even makes sense?)

Shouldn't the bigger cooler have more cooling capability than smaller one?
Why did they even add TR4 support to 212? can it even cool it properly?
Will i get support for newer sockets in future for my 612 v2? since all the attention goes straight to 212.

BTW shipment for am4 bracket is costing 28$ and this cooler costed me 54$ so should i just buy a different cooler or pay 28$ for the bracket?

CM 212 might cool Treadripper 1990, it's about same as 1800x but TR core is much larger and I'm not sure it can be covered by that cooler or any standard coolers. Higher TRs deserve a very good and powerful liquid cooler anyway.
I had good experience with CM 612, used to reasonably cool FX 8350 at 5GHz and that's way over 200W.
Other Ryzen processors can be cooled by 212 at reasonable OC (3.7 -3.8 GHz) and my guess would be that even 1800x left at stock could hit 4GHz on 612.
So, which processor you want a cooler for ?
