notice no posts about crysis?
"While we'll most definitely be able to organize our work spaces better with six full desktops, the question on all our minds is, "Will it run Crysis?" Actually, Crytek is working on it."

well i guess i know whose gpu im gonna get. ATI all the way. and that is just with one card wait till you get crossfire. im am so glad i waited to upgrade.

"Will it run Crysis?"

Well, the Crytek manager claims so at least:
( Cited & translated from a german site - http://www.golem.de/0909/69741.html )
...
Crysis: Warhead in 5.670 x 2.160 Pixeln
As Crytek-Manager Carl Jones stated, 60fps were achieved while testing Eyefinity by playing "Crysis: Warhead" in a resolution of 5.670x2.160 px on maximal settings
with a single graphic card...
...
well, we'll see about that i guess. And sorry for my English, i'm neither native german or english speaking ...

OMG!!!!

Never mind the monitors, where's the Holo emiters?

Cross fire with four or more of these cards, you'd probably be able to power up a small Holodeck the size of a cubical.

I say connect 6 60+" TVs or 6 "$175,000 Projector Displays 4K Resolution" ...... i guess it would be time to upgrade your house to fit you game/ computer habbit

Ummmmm... Way too many sites are posting absurdly high FPS at unheard of resolutions, I see Nvidia going under by Christmas if true... That would have to be an unreal amount of graphics horsepower, beyond the doubling of teraflops.

PS: To everybody hating on the multi-monitor setups: Nobody told you you have to use multiple monitors, if a 4870 can nab 80fps at 7680 x 3200(!!!) resolution, then imagine what it can do on your puny single 1920x1600 display...

This isn't for monitors...don't want space between them? Drive 6 HD projectors with these cards...awesome resolution...not bezels.

Using High def projectors would make i look seamless a great immersion idea. It will take gaming to a interesting level. And it wold really help when you have a half a dozen documents open.

I don't know about any of you, but for a FPS, I don't think multimonitors is that useful anyway, but for Flight sim, or some racing sims, it could be awesome. I also like the idea of using one card for all my monitors. Right now, I have to use 2 cards to use my 4 monitors. I am def looking forward to gaming with 3 monitors (3008WFP, and a 26" Viewsonic on either side) when these cards hit in a week.

TBH I've been waiting for this ever since the days I put 4 pci video cards in my pc for quad display. Multi monitor is such an excellent tool for anyone who administers servers. I could be watching my entire network from one workstation with that kind of setup. Also it's great when you're gaming coz you can have a single primary display for your game and the other 5 displays can keep an eye on torrents, im and other progs.
Looks like I may be goin back to the red corner when this comes out.

Bout time some support for multi monitor setups...
Windows drops, and ATI offers even less than Nvidia...

Now we need screens with extemely small dividers...

I have 2 4870's now, and they will be getting replaced with 2 5870's and I am going to add 3 more dell 2408wfp's cause they are $200 cheaper now than they were for 6 monitors expandable to 12 with 2 video cards.

It would be nice if they were oled lit and had smaller bezels though

I think a three monitor config would be best for games. But a six monitor config might have more business application. Ie running multiple displays around a store or expo.

fuck monitors, try PROJECTORS! no bezel! i totally need to make more money. 3-6 hd projectors, seamless! now i just need to find a wall big enough to put it on! I currently run 1 projo and it's awesome at 8 feet and lo\/e it i can't immagine taking 3-6 ebay projos at 3-500 bucks each and linking them up. shit, cur\/e the wall and you ha\/e a fully immersi\/e home theater! i'm pumped, i don't care what anyone else thinks, i'm pumped.
