It was anti fanboy not anti-amd.

He didn't say 'AMD engineers are rubbish' or 'AMD sucks' or 'AMD owners are stupid'.
He said they weren't the first with IMC, and proved it.

Why not?, you go on all out assaults against your favourites, and by the way I don't think you have any idea about where my allegiances lie or whether I have any at all, as you have no idea as to what machines I have now or have had in the past or may have in the future, so whilst I may be frustrated with Nvidia at the moment you have no real idea why.

I bet he is frustrated. As soon as he posts history that doesn't benefit AMD, he gets slaughtered by AMD fans.

No wait, seriously spider.

First I knew of Elmo, he's here with some rather controversial views on AMD. Then he's arguing with me in a graphics thread, really enamouring himself to me by saying stuff like 'it wasn't a debate I'm giving you the facts'.

So when I really start trying? He goes away, says nothing for a long time until a few other intel fanboys work up the courage to have a go at my points en-masse...THEN he comes back to the thread?

He then accuses Cryslayer of picking and choosing what to ignore, while doing the exact same thing in the same post.

I stayed away from this thread until Keithlm pointed out that when under pressure, elmo tends to get a bit worked up. This in in a thread where he (elmo) has garnered most of the support - but still he cannot take it because Keithlm refuses to be browbeaten by the majority consensus. I admire Keithlm's guts for standing up against so many dissenting voices - for me it's easy, I'm a woman and I get let off lightly but KeithLM doesn't. I'm showing him my support, plain and simple. And he is right, and you lot are wrong - it isn't what Elmo is saying that is the problem, it is his refusal to accept alternatives that is, and that is why he got banned from AMDZone.

Oh come on Random. Any smart person knows that is elmo's way of downplaying his hatred vs AMD to the majority. We've all done it, hell I bet I can find threads I have started having a go at AMD or even supporting intel/nvidia. It doesn't change the underlying fact that I am out to harm them as much as I can, and we don't exactly have to look very far to find stupid stuff that all of our respective companies have messed up.

hmm I'd need to do more reading, I've only been focused on this thread.
Good response. Often with you I find there are lots of good logical reasons that come out after some poking.

Still though, intel fanboy or not, he has some interesting info.
I'd love one focused on Intel myths, I'd find it just as interesting, and we could avoid the fanboy/fanboy stuff.

How long have you known Elmo for, jenny? A week? You're basing your entire opinion off a couple of threads and your own preference for AMD.

I am similar to Elmo in that I care about the product not the company, except that my preferences are more from a consumerist perspective than an architectural one. I don't care who has the best architecture, I don't care about anti-trust lawsuits, I don't care about "supporting the little guy," I care about what performs the best for the money I am willing to spend. Everything else is at best a side-issue, or completely irrelevant.

I'm not arguing any of his points in this thread. He's probably right, and if I cared enough I would either support or argue against it.

Elmo's problem is that dissenting voices aren't allowed. The extreme irony of that is, that is probably the same reason why he got banned from AMDZone. I can't say for sure because I am not a member of AMDZone nor am I ever likely to be, I'm just going on heresay.

So what threads have I started that were having a go at anyone?, ATi specifically as Nv are apparently my company of choice.

Well, i for one just dont like how he just shows up continuing his "fight" with AMDZoners with us only telling his side of the story. Otherwise, i dont disagree with the things he says

Anybody who starts their post with, and I quote :-

I wasn't offering you an opinion I was attempting to tell you that way it is.

...Is really going about things the wrong way. That attitude towards me is simply destined to fail horribly.

See, I actually have given elmo the benefit of doubt. I assumed that the reason he wrote that was because he felt under pressure in *this* thread, and carried it over to the other thread. All you see is me having a go at him, but you don't actually see how I really see it. The reason I posted here was because I see elmo starting to lose the plot again, with Keithlm.

To me, elmo has real issues with people who don't agree with him completely. And I do mean agree *completely*. I'm uncompromising I know, but I also recognise something more in elmo that shouldn't be allowed to flourish. With his attitude there can never be any peace in this forum, I 'guarantee' it.

Btw Jenny, at least as far as I have seen from a quick look back on this thread, all of keith's "alternatives" are based on an opinion that has had no 3rd party evidence posted to back it up. He has posted no links to anything supporting his argument, he has just posted his argument. It's nice to be able to play the Devil's Advocate, but at least make it a debate worth having.

You are not the first to say that

So if people don't see it the way you see it you won't compromise, yet others must compromise to see it your way, because? :??:

I disagree, irrelevant of who was at fault with all the BS, the original post was about extinguishing myths.

But it's still to be expected I guess. If you mention AMD and Intel in the same thread title you always get fan conflicts.

if u mention either u will get conflicts.

But the OP was just venting his anger because he was banned on an AMD Fanboy forum for being an intel fanboy/supporter

I didn't say that though did I? I might believe it, but you don't see me saying it quite so offensively do you?

I wasn't offering you an opinion I was attempting to tell you that way it is.

Believe me, I've been close to writing stuff like that a lot - but I held back because I'm old and wise enough to know better these days. 😀
