Question AMD Wraith Prism not being detected by CM software.

I decided to buy a wraith prism off my friend, installed it into the rgb header, realized I couldn't control the lights well with that, so I switched it to the USB 2.0 header on my motherboard (Msi x470 gaming plus) Software recognized it great.

Fast forward a bit and my friend had to return his CPU. Ok cool, I gave him his prism back and installed my old one. He got his new cpu, I got the new prism back, and now whenever I open the Cooler master program for the wraith it tells me to plug in my device even though it already is. When I check in the device manager it says that there is an unknown usb device( device descriptor failed).

So far I've tried to switch it to a different usb 2.0 header with the same result, I tried disabling it and enabling, I've tried searching for updates, but it says its up to date, Uninstalling and rebooting. I've also tried the windows troubleshooter, it detects the problem, but when I select it to fix, it says there is no problem, not sure what else to do.

Hopefully I gave enough information I don't usually post things in forums as I usually find the solution by just reading, but have had no luck. Everything seems to be working fine, minus the lack of rgb control on the cooler. Thanks in advance.

We're going to need more information.

installed it into the rgb header
You're working off of a CoolerMaster controller or a motherboard? A link to the controller will help as well.

Might want to include your full system's specs too. Please include/list your specs like so:
CPU:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
GPU:
PSU:
OS:

If Windows 10, include the version. Include the BIOS version for your motherboard as well.

Currently I am using the cooler master wraith prism software for better control of the rgb on the prism than my mobo gives me.

I used this same program before to control the prism, but had to give it back to the friend who sold it to me because he returned his cpu, after getting his new one, I got a new prism back and ran into this issue. Plugging it into a different USB 2.0 and it's the same problem.

If I try to disable it and enable it, it says the last usb device you connected to this computer malfunctioned, and windows does not recognize it. Just continues saying Unknown USB device (Device Descriptor Request Failed)
