Hello!

INFORMATION:

For everyone out there that is using AMD's Zen 5 (9000 series) CPUs and the iLok License Manager to activate their software:

The new Zen 5 microarchitecture has a bug!
When trying to open the iLok License Manager, users will receive the following error message:
"Error 2001. Background component unavailable".
So, users won't be able to activate their programs!

There's not much that users can do in this situation.
AMD must release a microcode patch.

Until then, users should check for the release of new BIOS versions for their motherboard.

hmm. but that error just means some dependencies (background services?) arent running?
Probably.

The iLok support team knows about this bug, but there's nothing that they can do to solve it.
They've contacted AMD.
AMD must patch their microarchitecture with a new microcode.

It sucks that we buy software, but we can't use it.

Official Statement by PACE (the parent company of iLok):

"We have identified a bug in the AMD Zen 5 CPU microarchitecture that affects all Fusion-protected products, including LicenseD (a core component of License Support) and wrapped products, on Windows. We have seen numerous end user reports of License Support failing to run on computers with these CPUs,
which prevents the use of all iLok-enabled products on these computers. We traced the problem to a bug in the CPU itself, and have reported the bug to AMD. There is no immediate solution or workaround for this bug, but we hope to hear more from AMD soon."

i wouldnt really trust that, its possible theres software conflict on zen5, but its not something that couldnt get fixed in pace software

here people with zen5 and if you scroll down, theres somebody who has working test version which he claims will be released soon

if you scroll even more, you will find that hotfix test version...but it will break SSL plugins
but license manager would work

Yeah.
The iLok team sent me a hotfix that did fix the iLok License Manager program, but my VST plugins that used iLok activation disappeared from the plugins list of my DAW (FL Studio).
So the hotfix solved nothing!
