AMD64 ever DDR2?

will a64 boards ever go to ddr2 in the near future. (which would really suck). im pretty stuck because i want to upgrade my ram and put in ballistix, bit dont want to look at a64 mobo-cpu that needs ddr2 and the ballistix will be a waste.

Amd may go to DDR2, if it becomes useful. That would take pc5400 or better. More likely DDR3 @ pc6400.

Never. They'll need a new die to support DDR2. And the next major die overhaul will likely be their dual-core CPU's. Even if they call those "A64" they won't be by today's definition.

Ram is never a problem. When you are done with it, sell it. There are people out there paying top dollar for pc100 SDRAM.
