The blend tests the CPU and RAM. Try 'small FFT's' if thats fine then do 'Large, in-place FFT's'. The first tests the CPU mainly the second tests RAM mostly. This'll help you decied where the extra volts are required 😉.

Hi everybody
First i would like to say that Asus Crosshair is the best Mobo for Overclockers (if you can afford it!! 😛 ), i have Amd's 6000+ Running @ 3.3Ghz With Stock cooler and its very stable, The voltage are set to Auto , my temps are idle 42 and max 62, i will have a Thermalright Ultra-120 eXtreme with SilenX Fan soon to cool it down then i am going to push it more 😉

It'll be good to see what you get. I really can't go much higher purely from not wanting to go over 1.6 vcore. But, it'll be good to see some friendly competition, lets see how good the Crosshair really is 😉.

Does anyone know what the maximum vcore the 6000+ or the X2 series can handle with sufficiant cooling? My Load temps are only 53C atm.

I almost got that board but it was too expensive and im probably never going to xfire so it was a waste, had i the money i def would have got it =D

i fitted the Thermalright Ultra-120 eXtreme with SilenX Fan and my idle now without any overclocking 35c. now i need help with the ram timing i can't get over 3.5@vcore 1.55

I've probably mentioned this before, but to get at 3.5ghz stable you need about 1.6vcore. Your RAM if it's any better than OCZ will easily run at 4-4-4-12 with a slight overvoltage. If you can't achieve 3.5 with default multiplier lower it to 14 and increase the northbridge voltage to allow for the 250 FSB 😉.

Thanks closed_deal for the advise i am ruining 3.420 @ V1.46 very stable i test it for few days my Maximum temp is 41c and my FSB is 228 x 15
memory @ 4-4-4-12-2t @2.2v .

With a Vcore of 1.6v and ddr2 of 2.3v my amd 6000+ booted in vista and made it at least 5 minutes into othro's iterations.

sadly it only scored a 5.6 on my vista game score all the rest of my scores were 5.9. 🙁
This is on water (with an extra radiator)so it never got above 45c.

take that intel fanboysssss!!

Niiiiice. How does that stack up in benchmarks.

I get 28000 in Sandra With an E66 clocked at 3.22ghz stable. http://www.sisoftware.net/index.html?dir=dload&location=sware_dl_3264&langx=en&a=
And 10147 in Nuclearus http://nuc-rus.narod.ru/NuclearMC.rar

Hello everyone

its been along time since i wrote here, anyway i OC my Amd to 3504 (292x12) @ 1.6v I test it with OCCT and its stable i played with it for 2 days now no problems at all, temps are 30Min 52Max My ram is running @ 876mhz 2.2v (4-4-4-12)
I am trying to make it stable with less voltage 😀

see it here

I hope someone can go above 3.5Ghz Because i couldn't at this time

guys i have amd 6000x2 , i am update my bios my mobo is abit nf-m2s , it restore bios setting , now i want to overclock but i can't , cuz the voltage bar and multiplier bar are gone, i can't go back to old bios , any other way to increase voltage , i need help guys cuz no one give answer about this , also i can't put thread in forums i don't know why , maybe need to type much posts or what , thanx everyone , i want to be new friend

nice one mate. ive got a e8200 @ 3.2ghz and its idling at 37degress, max is 45. i use a artic freezer pro but ive turned it down in the bios to silent mode, its warmer, but quierer. i know its the AMD section n all haha. thats a pretty sick OC for the cpu that it is.

the thing is, i have got the antec 900 aswell, i was just wondering what the fan setup you use is. and what the speeds of each fan is!?

EDIT: lol i just looked at dates, and this thread has been 100% bumped through the ages

Hey smyffalis, lol yeah i've changed my comp loads since i started this thread.

As for the Antec 900 setup I had all the fans on the Medium switch select, two intake fans sucking into the case the heatsink mounted horizontally in a push pull config straight into the top 200mm fan. No rear fans active. Seemed to keep me old toasty 6000+ @ 3.5Ghz in check :).

haha. i see that you saw the light n went with wolfdale haha.

the way i have it is, disc drive on the bottom, hdd fan in middle and other on top. i have the front and top on medium. and back fan on low.

i take it its cooler if the 200mm fan saps off your cpu, which has its fan pointed up like yours? my systems cool, but im just a cool freak i guess haha. but im lookin to keep the noise down as well. my system temp is 29, and 32 when im playing games, then it does back down to 29/30. hdd stays around 26-27. in winter, its alot colder!!! around 21 constant 😛

i wanna keep the rig quiet, medium rear is too loud the way i sit!!!

Yeah the 200mm moves more cubic feet of air per minute at low rpms than the rear 120mm fan = quiet :). Didn't bench the temps in different positions so can't say it makes much difference mounting it horizontally, I just thought bigger is better... turned out it was effective :).

You've mounted the front end opposite than I did, so you may have better airflow as the two front fans are almost level with the rear 120mm in your setup.

Must admit raw power is what I tend to focus on, seeing what my hardware's capable of before I have to think about cooling etc... I copped out with air and just went with water and found it's quite a fun project to undertake 😀.
