my 2 cents about 6000+ overclocking..
i got inspired by this thread, and tried the limits of my config. 6000+ cpu, gigabyte mobo, kingmax ddr800 ram.
the result: overclocks like crap.
temperature isnt an issue, every bootable config stayed under 55C all the time. according to otheros, its not the cpu either. its the ram that is crap.
i tried upping ht voltage, i tried upping drr voltage, i couldnt go above 210MHz FSB, though even 220 would boot, maybe more, but otheros halted with error after 3 seconds for everything above 210.. one time, i got a BSOD during otheros test..
if i would get ddr1066 rams, i guess it would break the barrier.. until then, hello 3GHz.
