my old bios not contend the ram voltage and it not recognize my cpu it is called it amd possessor unknown in bios so what you think

If I were you I'd go through each BIOS, starting at BIOS ID 14 and work my way up.

If each one fails to unlock the O/C options and to recognize you CPU, I'd either be happy with the 6000+ at stock with the latest BIOS revision or if you still can, RMA it and get a slightly better board.

I blow the dust of my floppy drive just for BIOS flash's, don't really trust doing it the other ways. If your happy doing it your way then I don't see that it'll be a problem, however an 'in windowz flash' may not allow you to roll back to older versions.

forgot to write back deal lmao. im gonna give it a go. just gotta check n see if my fan can sit anyway. i also broke one of the pin bits when putting it in. theyre a real pain in the hole to fit in. it works fine tho!!! i hate those fans.

ive thought about water cooling. my mate got it in, but he said its loud. im just gonna wait until i move out and then ill buy a fish house and oil cool this bad boy 😀 with the antec 900 its as cold as ice haha

my 2 cents about 6000+ overclocking..

i got inspired by this thread, and tried the limits of my config. 6000+ cpu, gigabyte mobo, kingmax ddr800 ram.

the result: overclocks like crap.

temperature isnt an issue, every bootable config stayed under 55C all the time. according to otheros, its not the cpu either. its the ram that is crap.

i tried upping ht voltage, i tried upping drr voltage, i couldnt go above 210MHz FSB, though even 220 would boot, maybe more, but otheros halted with error after 3 seconds for everything above 210.. one time, i got a BSOD during otheros test.. :)

if i would get ddr1066 rams, i guess it would break the barrier.. until then, hello 3GHz. :)

'bandras' overclocking result lmfao 😀. That Ram looks like it should clock quite high as the 667 version gets to 850 with lose'nd timings. Have you increased the vcore much. A Ram failure tends to, but not always halt on the Boot.

@ smyffalis. Water's really quite good to be honest and it depends on the dB(A) of the fans you get for your rad and the pump/pump mounting. It'll be interesting how the temp results vary. Out of interest could you post them once you've checked your fan fits?

this just in.. downgraded the cpu multiplier to 14, FSB up to 220, RAM running @ 441MHz, CPU running @ 3100MHz, no errors in orthos for 7 minutes, declared stable.. :) no upped voltages, though cpu-z reports 1.42V vcore (opposed to the 1.35V set in bios..).

Lol - 7 mins stable. But yeah looks like your getting there, must admit those AMD's are difficult to overclock compared to Intel's, but the sense of achievement is a damn sight higher 😀.

As for your verect as opposed to vdroop (guess thats what you'd call it lol). I'm baffled, wouldn't even know how to Google search that in less than 4 words...

You can see what voltage I've used to get it to 3.5ghz so if you want higher be prepared for some warm gaming sessions 😀.

why can't i edit my posts?..

anyways, this is my final config. anything over 3.1GHz would produce massive errors, seems like the real barrier is the cpu, just wouldn't go above 3.1 without errors, end of story.

fsb: 214 MHz, cpu: 14 * 214 MHz = 3000 MHz, ram: 428 MHz (CPU/7).

orthos ran for 30 minutes, no errors.

cpu-z reports vcore 1.42 (though i didn't touch it), ddr voltage upped by +0.05V, by me.

i just ran a 3dmark06 default benchmark (1280x1024, noAA, noAF), i got 9853 points. all-stock clocks result was 9835. i upped my ram from 375MHz to 428MHz, and this is what i get.. this is so not worth it..

Yeah the 6000+ doesn't get a great CPU score at all, but at 3.4/3.5ghz it gave a fair old boost to the SM2/SM3 scores. Must give the gfx better breathing space.

To be honest thats only a 50mhz increase RAM wise to get 20 more points on 3Dmark. So it ain't too bad...

i can imagine, the 3.5GHz is quite an increase..

i tried 3dmark06 again, this time FSB 220MHz, and congrats to me, i just went over 10k 😀 (10025 points, to be exact). now thats something.. +50MHz ram, +100MHz cpu = +175 points.

Now if only you could do that with the std multiplier 😉.

*Edit* Damn you bandras, gotten me tinkering further now... Just hit a bench stable 4.4Ghz and run 3DMark06 now getting 19248 woot. That last 200Mhz increase = 509 3Dmarks 😀.

ive done some research online n it doesnt state if it will fit or not haha. id wanna wait till i got some thermal paste or something cause i dont have any and the stuff on my fan n all at the mo isnt much. i will in the near future get some paste n then give that bad boy a go though!!!

hey guyz
i have a abit kn9 sli and a amd6000+
i been trying 2 get past 3.4 stable
so far i upped mi vcore to 1.6volts
i upped mi HT voltage from 1.20volts to 1.40volts
and northbridge upped from 1.20volts to 140volts
but its still unstable ingame
could it be mi ram needs overclocking ( if so tell me how plz )
or if not whats the max volts i shud put into mi cpu ( ill go far as it goes b4 frying )

THNX:]

My vcore at 3.5ghz was 1.63 actual 1.65 bios (highly unrecommended unless you really want the max you cooling can allow for). Voltage is most likely still your problem atm if it's not bench/game stable...

However, is your RAM still at 1:1 if so knock it down to 667 from 800. If you still can't get it stable drop your HT then default the HT voltage. If that doesn't work lower your CPU multiplier to see if the NB can handle the FSB if it can't increase the NB vocre until it's stable (watch temps), then you may require more CPU voltage...

How are yours temps? Would the thermal safety be failing your overclocks?

LAWL to tell ya the truth i once had my vcore at 1.8volts and 3.4 and the putter wouldnt get past xp start page

and im runnin at 3.3 vcore 1.6 and mi temps are cpu 33 degrees and notthbridge 42 degrees
temps probly abit higher in game, but i could bump up mi fan speed
Oh yer and i got a zalman 9700cpu cooler so yeh..... :sarcastic:

tc thnx 4 help and hope 2 hear from ya

Nice going fella, but try and lower your HT Link multiplier to x4. Or maybe try CPU multiplier at 14 FSB at 250 (you'll have to either lower your RAM ratio to 2:3 or if you want 1:1 depending on your RAM's quality just loosen the timings from 4-4-4-14 to 5-5-5-15 and increase the voltage to no higher than 0.2V of manufactures recommended specs).

Hope this helps to get her stable and may give you a chance to lower that vcore 😱 a tad 😀.

LAWL ty

:??: :??: i dnt noe wat ur talkin about ram timings and all
but if it helps i got 2 adata ddr2 800 stix and 2 cheapies i fink are ddr2 667, so would thoze **** rams be able to handle it or sumfing.
In mi bios in the memory clocks and speed bit theres a whole lotta things to change and fiddle with what things am i looking 2 increase/decrease/change

and thnx agen bro u been a real help here
