I'm looking to upgrade my 2nd computer graphics card, before agp 4x cards are phased out completely. It also has to be an NVIDIA, as I run a dual boot linux/windows setup. Anybody have experience here or just have an opinion whether or not its even worth the upgrade. I was thinking about either the 6600 or 6200.

Athlon XP 2000+
MSI KT3V (only 4x AGP)
Radeon 9000 Pro
2x512 PC4000

If you're keeping that system for a while, yes. My 7800GS benchmarks 3x faster than the Radeon 9500 Pro it replaced... except the times when it randomly benchmarks at half the speed.

Thanks all. I went with a 6600 for the price, the system benchmarks 3-4x times higher. The 9000 pro wasn't the best card when I bought it but it was the best for the money. The 6600 seemed the best for the price ($80).

6600GT, m friend got one can run al his games smooth on a $x slot too
bought CoD2 runs fine on his PC, BF2 ran smoothly

its a very good card for AGP and it doesnt break the bank
