I recently added a 256 GB Transcend SSD and performed a clean install of windows 8.1 64 bits. I connected the SSD to one of the two SATA 3 ports on the motherboard (ASUS P8-Z77) and shifted one hard disk to a SATA 2 port. Earlier I had both hard drives connected to the SATA 3 ports (500GB Segate and 1TB WD). Next I set my boot priority from bios to SSD first.
However, when I boot my pc a message appears saying "An operating system was not found, try disconnecting the drives that don't contain an operating system". When I press ctrl+alt+del for the third time, the windows boots up properly. Why is it happening on the first two attempts ? I have already changed the priority.
Thanks.
