If Microsoft followed Apple's lead it would be wonderfull. Family pack purchasing would definitely interest me but knowing Microsofts bundle pricing it would never be anything close to affordable. Take a hint from Apple, sell it cheap so consumers will buy it.

If ONLY games were made available for other operating systems... I'm keeping XP for as long as I can. If Steam made a linux version with an emulator, so that I could still play all my games, I'd jump boat and never look back.

Ultimate maybe worth $50, their normal version maybe $30. no way would i pay more for a buggier and less stable os than i could get for free.

gates better start cashing his MS stock, cause win7 is going to be the last os before linux causes them to be in a os death spiral.

I need a full windows 7 version since i'm still using XP, the problem is that here in Canada, for the Home version of Windows 7, I have to pay nearly 250$ and around 400$ if I want the Ultimate version.

Windows 7 is way to expensive for customer who are struggling with the bad economy, We can clearly see the effets of a monopoly in action.

I have 6 computers that I help maintain for various members of my family. None of them have the money to spend on things like this. I would spend about $200 to install an OS on them all, but not the $1,200 I'm looking at right now. That's simply ridiculous. With the computer being so ubiquitous where we may have 3 or more computers in one home, asking $200 for each full retail version is just way too much. And, honestly, I know that pirates will still pirate, but asking an outrageous price like this actually pushes people who normally wouldn't pirate to use pirated copies.

[citation][nom]vettedude[/nom]People drink too much Apple Kool-Aide. The pricing is fine with me. If you can't afford to upgrade, don't! I know I am gonna get on PC up to Win7, but I'm keeping one with Vista. It really is a great OS. I can't believe that their is still this much Vista hate out there.[/citation]
I don't have the money for Windows 7! I'm stuck with Fedora 12 and can't run all of the software I need for school! It's not always about upgrading. I own three computers myself. $140 is too much for one license! I have been a die-hard Windows fan for years and I have never chosen a Mac over a Windows PC, but Microsoft is out of line by pricing Windows 7 so much! They're almost as bad as Apple! If they followed a similar pricing scheme as the operating systems from Apple, we would not complain so much. In fact, it would be a pleasure for me to buy 5 licenses for $50! I couldn't use my computer that I spent months working to buy parts to build and can't use it just because Microsoft was being greedy. They had best not follow the path of Apple.
