Anonymous Declares War on Syrian Government Sites

Who cares? Maybe if "Anonymous organizes worldwide relief operation via internet" and actually did something worthwhile with their time, as is their 15mins is up.

What people fail to realize is that Anonymous is much more powerful than what they have presented themselves as, and could provide a serious threat if they are rubbed the wrong way. Ever see "Live Free, or Die Hard"? Let's just hope they decide to "Be good".

Yeah, whatever 'hate machine', you got it.
Among those guys, the script kiddies, there are Anons that are actual programmers and network specialists. I respect the work they do. Its influence could be pretty much driven to a major scale if they decided to bypass other securities, like tv companies or news sites to spread their message. Information is a weapon.

Whenever Anonymous announces anything, claims anything, or denies anything, how is anyone supposed to believe it is really them? How do we know they really exist? If I found a way to get some message into a media outlet without disclosing my true identity, couldn't I claim to be them?

LOL, as if they could actually do anything harmful.

It'll be the standard Anonymous routine: they take a site down with a DDoS attack, it goes offline for a couple hours, media splashes "ANONYMOUS DID IT AGAIN" everywhere, they brag and it's over. Meh.

Pretty much. When was the last time a govt. was toppled via a DDOS attack by a group of self promoting ass-hats?

I think for the most part Anonymous does not use TOO much force on US & European websites, because IF they got caught for anything they could get serious time. But when hacking a evil regime I don't think they have much to worry about, I mean what is the government going to do about it?

[citation][nom]hate machine[/nom]All they can do is DDOS sites because since nearly almost all of the people in this group are 4chan script kiddies doing it for the lulz on /b/.[/citation]

yes much of them are script kiddies, but anon isnt an organization, its an idea
not everyone comes from /b/
and not everyone is strictly a script kiddie
and when the ones who really want to screw things up act, thats when things will get interesting.

sure, facebook and many other areas, they were targets, but how many people would be willing to go to jail to take it out for a day?

wait till something happens they are willing to go to jail for and you will see the mind that the group has amassed.

they arent an organization... lulzsec was, but non anon.

if i can best describe anon, it would be watch Ghost in the Shell: Stand Along Complex

like i said above, anonymous inst an organization, its an idea.

[citation][nom]hasten[/nom]LOL![/citation]

yea, take a look at lulzsec.
they were a small group with a little skill

imagine when something happens that members with real skill are willing to die for, people with real convictions.

The internet went down in Syria if you watch the news because of the war. So Anonymous has nothing to DDOS now. I'm sure they will still take credit for it anyway :)

Wasint anonymous orignaly calming they were the ones the brought down the internet in Syria?

Anonymous is just a bunch of attention whore's. They will get behind anything in order to get attention from the media.

[citation][nom]slabbo[/nom]the funny thing is, they don't have internet anymore, so what are they going to do? give them less internet? LMAO[/citation]
Egypt is pretty much Anonymous-proof right now.

By the way, where are the UN now? Counting the deaths they could have prevented or just doing nothing as usual?

So no internet, no phones, no flights....what will Anonymous do to actually inflict some real damage and not only verbal threats to Syrian government...?!?!?!
This is stupid, i doubt they even exist. I hope that they do, but probably we're talking about bunch of stupid kids with no real goals.

Bunch of retards hiding behind a computer screen for some belief of creating a new world order.

Must make you feel real big to liberate a country.

Honest question: how sophisticated is Anonymous?

My client's security chief tells me they either hack poorly-protected systems or they just ddos (which script kids can do anyways).
