try flagging the message. On the main toolbar click Message. A drop down
menu will appear three quarters of the way down you will see an option
marked 'Flag Message. The message will then be marked by a flag so you can
easily see it. You may get a message at first to say the option isn't
enabled just click ok to enable it and it will add a flag to the top of the
newsgroup menu - you should then see a from left to right a flag, and
exclamation, an arrow, a pair of glasses and subject. If you click on the
flag icon you can move the flagged messages to the bottom of the pile or, if
you click again, to the top. Make sure your flagged item are at the top of
the list so they are always visible.

If you are using Outlook Express, just click in the white space to the left
of the message. You can click through several options.
