Another "What graphics card" thread!

Hi,

First of all apologies for my username, it’s something that I setup quite a few years ago and haven’t got around to changing it yet!

I'm in need of some help. I need to find a half-height graphics card (Preferably AMD) that can output three displays simultaneously. I have looked around quite a bit and whilst finding cards with a "Display port" (The AMD port that supports multiple monitors, I think that’s what it’s called?) isn’t hard, I can’t seem to find any that are half height.

Price is not an issue, but nothing stupid like thousands, obviously.

The Powercolor Radeon 6770 is a single slot GPU that has one DVI, one HDMI, and one Displayport. That should do it for you!

Edit: Following up on this, for every monitor beyond the 2nd on an AMD/ATI GPU based system, you'll need to use displayports. If your monitor doesn't have a displayport connector on its end, you'll need to get an ACTIVE displayport to DVI/HDMI/whatever your monitor uses converter. ACTIVE converters usually have a separate USB dongle that connects as well to actively use the electricity from the USB port to convert the signal. Passive ones will not work for what you need.

I cant I can’t use that though - it wouldn’t fit. It needs to be half height as its got to go into an HP SFF desktop, that’s a full height card.

So what do you mean by "half height" then, are you talking about something thinner than that? Because it doesn't exist. If you're talking about shorter length, then that's different.

No, half height does exist. It is also called "Low Profile".

yup... my bad... tired eyes... They have 3 outputs. HDMI, VGA, and DVI. NO Crossfire either.

i'm not sure if 3 Monitors setup support VGA output, but i'm sure that you will sacrifice one output which is VGA when you plug in the "Low Profile" bracket

There are two brackets:

I have to unscrew the original one and screw the connectors to both of those brackets. The VGA port is on a ribbon cable so this can be moved around, its not fixed to the card. And the display port connector will allow the two ports (VGA, DVI) to run simultaniously with an aditional third monitor plugged into the display port, port.

if you will get by, and manage to run a monitor with the VGA Port so you should be fine
