I am about to buy myself an Antec 900 next week, but there is one detail that's bothering me...its net weight searched on the net is around 12 kg, and some sites even mentioned more...
Now my current case, a no name one, 100% steel, with all my components inside weighs around 12-13 kg...
(2 hdd, 2 dvdrw, 425w hiper psu, arctic cooler 7 pro, xfx 8800 gts 320 mb, so quite some weight in there)

So my question is, for the Antec 900 owners...does this case really have 12kg+ ? I don't want to imagine a 15-16 kg+ case overall...

If you want light, look into the Ultra Aluminus. It's pretty spacious, and solid too, but it's also all aluminum and hence incredibly light for it's size. I wouldn't say more than 5kg. The only thing I don't like about mine is the somewhat flimsy door.

I cheked the Ultra website, their cases look good (I had no ideea they build cases, too), but unfortunately, the Romanian market doesn't have them at all...

To save starting a new thread...

I want to put some fan filters in my 900. Has anyone done this yet & what ones did you use (assuming you buy them & not make them yourself)?

I've seen a few out there but don't know if they'll fit inside.

I would have to disagree, that if you're moving the case around that is when you DO want it heavy (given same sized case if both were made of steel) because it bears on the amount of metal necessary for good structural integrity.

The same applies for aluminum cases (though since Al is lighter than steel, it would be a better choice for you), if two look equal but one weighs a lot more, it is the better traveler. Motherboard, video card, etc are screwed to your case so when it flexes, it does bend your expensive equipment. Maybe it won't kill anything at first but fractured surface mount components, solder joints, or board cracks can be a real PITA to diagnose as they can be intermittent faults.
