it is not needed if you are careful, get it if you can, but if not then make sure that when you build your pc you dont put it on or stand on carpet, dont have pets around, and touch a grounded piece of metal before installing each part.

hey man thanks for the quick reply i dont own pets and i dont have carpet in my house lol,i was planning on building it on my living room floor since ill have plenty of space,i heard if your psu is plugged into your PC (but not switched on) and touching your case is okay,just wanted to double check or something
I like to add don't wear sweater and any wool like clothing since they can easily create static electricity. Also, chassis is made out of metal so by touching them will ground yourself
yeah, your floor is fine since it isnt carpet, and no pets helps, and if you build it bare-foot you have nothing to worry about, if you wear socks and/or shoes, then touch the metal chassis before installing each part. and not wearing wool helps
