Hello, recently my motherboard died on me and sent it to a repair shop to have it changed. However, after a few weeks of usage, i noticed my graphics card started to act up and eventually died on me too. So any recommendation on graphics card? Not looking for a high end one, just a mid range one will suffice as im planning to get a new computer if it dies on me again.

Motherboard : Asrock H71M-DGS

P.S im not a computer expert so i dont really know anything else.

Solution
your current PSU (300W as you mentioned) is good you can install the graphic card you mentioned without any power falls.

Sorry, but how do i locate the PSU and CPU? im just using for casual gaming such as Dota and Csgo. Thanks for replying!

If you go to windows explorer, go to my computer and right click and click on "Properties". It'll give you information about your system like how much ram you have and what CPU you have.

Also you can usually pick up a 750 ti for around 100 dollars which is fairly low power and will give you really good performance

Generally third party cards have better cooling solutions and run faster.

Oh, okay. i get it now. Anything i have to check before purchasing the card?

the graphic chip is being made by Nvidia and customized by other manufactures like gigabyte and asus and so on ..

Thanks for recommending but im just looking for a temporary stand in until my computer dies on me. hahaha

ok thanks! do i have to check my PSU and CPU specs?

Why a lower end card. I mean he has no purpose of buying new. I disagree with you guys entirely. He Says it's only till ne gets whole new thing. I reccomemd you buy a used GTX 660ti or a HD7850 off eBay. They are around 80 bucks.

The new low end cards are not worth ONE BIT of your hard earned money.

if your PSU is upper then 500W there's nothing to worry but if it's bellow 500W I'd say first to calculate the power needed then if it wasn't available then go for a new PSU you can calculate the power consumption in here:
www.coolermaster.com/power-supply-calculator/
and for the CPU if it's not too weak don't worry about it.

Do not worry i am getting a used card. It ranges from around SGD$80-90 so I am still checking out if its compatible.

just checked my PSU, it says 300W. the calculator is quite difficult to use when i dont really know the terms. please help!

just enter the components you already have and it will give you the maximum power consumption of those part in total. so 300W for all you have with a little more for caution, 350 or 400 W i think would be enough for you.
so how much your is you PSU?

my psu is 300W. i am not too sure about my calculated one.

what do you need? so far, the only specs that i know of are these:

motherboard - h71m-dgs

intel i5 2500 3.3ghz

2x 4GB DDR3 RAM

PSU : 300W
