Any performance gain by ocing i7 2700K?

mainly source games which are more cpu reliant than gpu. in custom 32 man servers my fps will dip to 60 at times...which is ******* retarded if u ask me for a processor powerfuly as mine.

sorry if i sound mad, but i want my fps @ 100 and over constant.

Buddy what are you drinking? most people work with 40-50 fps with 32 player and much worse in 64 player plus Ocing an i7 2700k is very hard practically you are going to suffer from high temps and playing with in it's voltages with such CPU is not recommended though but well if you know what you are doing..try and OC it but i warn you don't even try

I wouldnt say overclocking a 2700k is hard as sandy an ivy bridge are some of the easiest overclockers out there an you dont need to spend a lot for an aftermarket cooler.
what monitor are you playing on by the way anything over 60 frames on a 60hz monitor will give you horrible screen tearing anyway also what gpu?

Yes overclocking the i7 2700k will have major gains especially when using a high end cool Easy 5.0Ghz!

Rest of my specs are 16gb, Asus gen-3 P8Z LGA 1155 mobo, GTX 570, coolermaster artic aftermarket cooler, 750watt corsair sli, so i definitely have the proper components to overclock.

I've seen some of the benchmarks for the i7 2600K oced to 4.4ghz and there was significant performance increase. enough for me to contemplate ocing the processor.

If you have an aftermarket cooler you can reduce high temps and OC quite well.

But really, does it really make a difference between 60 and 120FPS, you must have a over 60Hz monitor for it to have effect anyway.
Human eyes can't really detect fluency over 40fps, but between 80-120 theres barely any viewable difference.
