Any replacement for the Soundstorm APU yet?

One of the reasons I haven't upgraded from socket A is my soundstorm. I'm
not interested in Creative sound solutions. Do any new motherboards support
on-board sound as good as soundstorm?

I have got the Abit NF7-S and the soundstrom sound is really good. But
since I have observed crackly noise in the background in Half Life 2, I
switched the soundstorm of and placed my old Terratec DMX Fire 1024
back. It sounds a little bit more dull, but it has no noise anymore.

I don't have any problems with Soundstorm since Nvidia came out w/their
latest XP soundstorm drivers. I did have a problem with my 98SE though, it
turned out IRQ conflicts with the soundstorm APU caused problems. Once I
resolved the IRQ conflicts all my soundstorm problems disappeared.
