My motherboard has 2 M.2 slots , One is x4 and x2 both gen 3.0 , the x4 can support NVME and SATA SSDs both but the x2 supports only NVME.
And now im having 2 SSDs, one is WD Green 240 gb SATA SSD but M.2 Form factor and another one is Samsung 980.
The problem remains is that i cannot use the Samsung SSD to its full potential since i have to put the WD Green in the X4 slot and Samsung SSD in the X2 slot.
Im getting 1600mbps both read and write speed instead of 3500 which is mentioned by Samsung.
And one more issue is that my board has 1xPCIEx16 and 2 PCIEX1 slots but both of them are gen 2.0
Again it is the same problem , A Gen 3 X2 slot will basically provide the same speed as a GEN 2 X4 slot so i cannot use those slots using any third party adapters.
And i dont think PCIE lanes detect any kind of SATA M.2 SSD using any adapter or anything.
Anything to solve this issue ?
