Please.. guys I have been desperately trying to build an amazing powerful PC.. I already have a 570-E ROG strix motherboard and some other parts like ram/cooler etc. I just need a CPU and GPU now. The struggle is real.. I downloaded a Price Tracker for Amazon app that notifies me when the CPUs are up etc and still struggling. Any tips guys?! Please help a man, I don't want to give a scalper 300 dollars more than I should. I want it for $799 or at most $899, nothing more than that! Please help me. Also, I need to be prepared for the 3080 ti GPUs any tips for those as well..? Can I preorder one from now? or Backorder one? Is there anyway for us gamers ffs?! Thanks in advance boys! <3

The 5900X is the better performer with gaming. It has a higher core-to-cache ratio, having only 50% more cores but 100% more cache (than the Ryzen 7 5800X), plus a higher base clock when multile cores are busy. The 5950X has 100% more cores but still only 100% more cache.
There are some arguments regarding the 6 core ccx vs 8 core ccx, when comparing the 5900X to the 5950X, but I think the greater core-to-cache and higher base clocks nullify that, which is why the 5900X beats the 5950X in a lot of gaming benches.

For the gpu, always check best buy, they have them at msrp. For the cpu, I found the 5950x on amazon for around 1120 bucks, but there's only 5 in stock. Hurry. For the gpu, where I live (UAE) the gpu's are there on msrp like best buy, but always out of stock. Comes in and out quickly. Good luck.

I'm from Bahrain..! Give me any UAE website/store that I can order a GPU from please! Or if I can preorder from them! It's so close to Bahrain!! About the 5950x I don't want to buy one for 1120 bucks dude.. the point is I want it for $799 xD the normal retail price.. not the scalper price.. this is the point of this post. I can easily get a 5950x if I want but I have to spend extra (which I dont want to do.. I have the money but I dont like wasting it like that).

I've just built my own PC and had that dilemma if to buy 5950x or 5900x... For gaming, both CPUs are overkill. I wanted such CPU for my work.
I've seen a lot of benchmarks that compare those two. And actually, I realized that the performance difference doesn't worth the price margin. Moreover, 5900x outperform 5950x in several games...

I've decided to buy the 5900x and it's an amazing processor. I've struggled with keeping its temperature cool enough even with good cooling. I had to tweak its voltage and PPT to stabilize its temperature around 75-80C. I believe it will be more difficult with 5950x, but it is up to your build.

In my perspective, you should buy 5950x only if you really need 16 cores / 32 threads. Otherwise, 5900x is more than enough...

I don't mind a 5900x either.. but where can I get it for normal MSRP price and not 300 dollars extra....? and how..? Do I need to download a bot to purchase it for me ?!

prices are bonkers now lol..... what are you gonna do? Gaming? If so, a 5800x is more than enough and a 3060 is excellent. Except if you are doing 4k gaming, the setup I just listed is nice. Give me your system specs so I can decide.

It's hard to say... Try to monitor Amazon or Newegg. I've bought mine in a local store for 775$. So, it worth taking a look at local stores also... (especially if the shipping price is high and doesn't worth it).

But again, 5900x is also overkill for gaming. It depends on your usage. If you are building a gaming PC, I would suggest you consider an even more inexpensive CPU.
For example, 5800x has 8 cores and 16 threads, which can be excellent for gaming. Its price at Amazon (without shipping) is around 430$. Much more reasonable...

Gaming and might stream as well.. I just want the best PC in my region kinda. Plus because my pc is really old now, I'm on a 980 ti.. and a i7 2600k sandry bridge cpu... 2nd gen..... so yea.. I think you see where I'm coming from. I got 16gb ram ddr3. I just want a HUGE skip from my current PC, if I get a 5950x or 5900x and a 3080 ti my PC should last for 10+ years lmfao, and easy 4k gaming etc, but I mostly want 2k gaming with like 300+ fps on every single game I throw on it.

you're saying the 5900X beats the 5950X in gaming performance..? Are you sure about that? Can you provide the source please..?

I gave up on the 5000 series. When I built, couldn't find a 5000 (still can't), motherboard support wasn't much yet, and the 3000 series were available. I got a 3900x that I'm happy with. Paid retail, can keep it cool with the stock cooler. Something else about the 5000 series. Lots of people having issues cooling them without tweaking the hell out of them.

Head to MC for both that is your best bet.

3900x is great CPU too. I got one and its been rocking. I do suggest getting the FUMA 2 to air cool these suckers. Wraith I could never the get curve exactly where I wanted for the fans.
I wish there was an MC near me. I would have to take an air flight tot get to the closest one...600 miles away.

Yeah the stock coolers arent enough to cool these quietly.
They dont even come with that cooler because it isnt thermally capable
