[SOLVED] Anything I should know about before transferring CPU, GPU, and storage (SSD+HDD) to new case/motherboard?

Above are the spec sheets for the 2 boards.

Different chipsets.

As is common with HP, their board is "customized", so who knows the finer points of that.

Give it a try.

Know what you will do if it fails. I'd probably decide in advance just how many hours I was willing to devote to solving problems rather than do a clean install.

Trying to use the old drive+OS install, there are 3 possible outcomes:

1. It works just fine
2. It fails completely
3. It "works", but you're chasing issues for weeks/months.

For this change, I expect #2, with a side order of #3.

What drive(s) do you have now?

Also, what PSU?

Unlikely the SSD would be an issue.

Is it a standard 2.5 inch SSD?

Quick other question, how do I go about detatching a SATA power cable end from a hard drive disk.. the data cables (that I bought separately) have clips making detatching easier but.. the power cable that came with the pre-built HP doesn't.. for these kinds of cables without clips, do I just tug on them till it detatches?
