Anything special in the near future?

With the core 2 duo's hitting the market and basically being the dogs bollocks, i am tempted to build a new pc.
My question is are there any revolutionarily good graphics cards likely to hit the market within the next few months?
In which case i could wait a few months for it (with c2ds bound to drop in price also).
What would my knowledgable comrades views on this be?

By years end both NVidia and ATI should hopefully have their next gen cards out (G80 and R600). They will be DX10 shader cards, newer features, offer better performance than todays cards, and the R600 will have unified shaders like a beefed up xbox360 gpu. It will take Vista to see the DX 10 effects, but these cards will also be the best DX9 gaming cards too. It can be a long time to wait, so a cheap X1800XT or even 7600GT could allow you to game now without losing too much money on resale later.
