APC UPS monitoring system - total energy usage or just of CPU

Hi,

I have got a UPS (APC Back-UPS RS1000) which allows monitoring of energy usage by plugging into a USB port in the CPU. I have plugged in a CPU, LCD monitor, speaker and a router to this UPS. I am using a software PowerChute Personal Edition provided by APC to read the energy usage values. It shows a value in watts under 'Load on Battery Backup'.

I would like to know if the given value gives the combined energy usage of all the components plugged into the UPS or just for the CPU?

You mean desktop, people get mixed up on what to call it.
I think its just the desktop if it connects via USB port, how many watts is it reading.

its total thats plugged into the protected outlets. many APC's also have outlets that are not on the ups (act like a plain outlet strip) and those aren't monitored by the software.

Sorry, I meant the cabinet with all the components including motherboard, RAM sticks, hard disks and processor. The minimum energy usage is 96 watts and 136 watts at the high end, while 108 watts is the value most of the time.

My components are
Motherboard - ASUS M5A88-M (with Integrated ATI Radeon™ HD 4250 GPU)
Processor - AMD FX(tm)-6100 Six-Core Processor, 3300 MHz (specified power wattage - 95 watts)
RAM - Corsair XMS3 DDR3 (4 X 4GB)
PSU - Seasonic S12II-620 620 Watts PSU
Hard Disk 1 - Seagate Barracuda 1 TB HDD Internal Hard Drive (Power Consumption: 5.9 W (Read/Write), 0.63 W (Standby/Sleep) )
Hard Disk 2 - Seagate Barracuda 2 TB HDD Internal Hard Drive (Power Consumption: 5.8 W (Read/Write), 0.5 W (Standby/Sleep) )


The cabinet is plugged into one of the battery backup outlet. Three more items are plugged into the other 3 battery backup outlets. Nothing is plugged into the plain outlets on the UPS.

Creative SBS A520 5.1 Multimedia Speakers (Output RMS - 37 watts or 47 watts)
Netgear WGR614-N150 Wireless Router (8 Watts - not sure)
ViewSonic VA1918WM LCD monitor (32 watts)

I have set the EPU mode to Auto and this allows the processor to run at a reduced speed of 1333 MHz most of the time. Also I usually run the router with wireless turned off. I think that hard disk 2 is in standby or sleep mode most of the time. I don't know if the "Output RMS" value for the speakers indicate its power consumption.

I wanted to be sure about this. I don't have anything plugged into the plain outlet for regular use.
