Then each movie should have been half-price...^~

I agree, tho I can see the opposite argument: If people were turned
off by certain aspects of the first film, then why should they expect
vol. 2 to be any different, *esp* as it's being touted as simply the
other half of a single film...
This reminds me of my friends who complain that, however cool the
eventual payoff in later episodes, there's still no excuse for anime
series to open with a dragging, lackluster style, and just assume that
the audience is going to hang around till it kicks in...(heard this
complaint about Witch Hunter Robin ALOT, btw)
Tarantino did the opposite, as you say...but you also implicitely
admit that having all the action at the beginning may have made the
opening "weak" (narratively speaking)...of course, people who like
that sort of thing, but dislike all the talky bits, will probably feel
the other way around...
FWIW, I, like many others I know, liked both Volumes pretty much
equally well, for different reasons...

When I heard this, I assumed T was joking...having actually *read* his
comments, now I'm not so sure...It makes sense that Sofie would fund
little whatshername...I also assume that's why Elle was left alive, to
be the Blind Master providing her training...imagine growing up
surrounded by maimed people, who were raising you to take revenge on
the one who did that to them...Maybe she'll wind up good friends with
BB (after being deadly enemies first, of course; kinda like Lucita and
Fatima...)^^

Seeing this a second time, I realize that that's a scene from Vol. 1,
and not 2...horay for foreshadowing!^__^
Dex,
who wonders if Bill knew that Elle had killed Pai Mei...
