random note. I just tried pricing a computer that is an equivalent to the mac mini, and with the absolute cheapest components I can put together a computer for $500 on newegg.ca. However It does not have as many usb ports, or any firewire, not could you carry it around. Then again for an extra $20 you could buy a case to do that better, but it still won't be as portable as a mac mini. Oh wait... +$160 for vista... then again I suppose you'll pay the same for the macmini if you want to play games not made by blizzard.]

[citation][nom]casual_observer[/nom]Wow! Is there ANY forum online that isn't full of uptight people's self-important drivel?[/citation]

Were you born yesterday?

I used to be an avid PC is better person. I still use PC's at home and at work. A group that I volunteer for (heavy into Multimedia stuff) started to use Macs sometime in the past two years. At first I was hesitant. Then I was in love. I bought my own Mac in November of '09. I have been using PC's since before Windows started to become mainstream (3.1 anyone?). The good old DOS days...loved 'em. I digress. After I got my Mac, I honestly wondered to myself, "why did I wait so long?" OSX really is that nice folks. Also, if I need Windows, VMWare Fusion is tops. It has this fusion mode that allows your Windows stuff to integrate seamlessly with OSX...which is very cool. So for the one or two programs that I need that will only run on PC, I just have VMWare and it's basically integrated into my dock like any Mac program would be. I'm not saying PC or Mac is better, both are nice and both have their weaknesses and advantages. In Mac I don't have to worry about my registry getting jacked up...however in XP I can use that same registry to tweak a ton of crap. It's a double edged sword really.
