" Apples retina display offers a superior experience" .. FUCK OFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF ...

The new bb Z10 has more DPI than ANY other phone out there atm!

Is this the same cock who said "apple are leading the way in inovation" Dont make me laugh... how much does this clown get paid to make himself and apple the laughing stock

I guess apple don't like srgb (the default standard)scrgb is based on srgb so I am pretty sure everything is either using scrgb or srgb.and the value Tim speak about are very specific .so I highly doubt pled don't pass uesrgb spec .they might not pass scrgb spec but this will become more and more unlikely since scrgb spec is way simpler to follow then srgb alone.ho well what you expect from the grandfather of icc(color.org)again ineptsie.then user wonder why they have issue.mr cook .please read the long version of the srgb standard then tell people your opinion on oled or other subject for that matter.

Here is my own first-hand experience with OLEDs.

Galaxy S3: OLED.

It is the first device, or computer, I have ever seen that reproduces colors - whether indoor, nature shots, anything - exactly as they appeared in "real life" at the time the shot was taken.

There is no way in hell that it is not an incredible display.

No need to take my word for it though:

"Let's take a minute and talk about the screen: it's beautiful."

and..

"While the iPhone 5's display is a notable upgrade from the previous version, it falls short of the Galaxy S3, according to a study from IHS."

Tim Cook: Owned.

"We built an ecosystem that is the best customer experience on the planet," he stated. "You don't see a lot of people doing PC apps. The innovation has all moved to tablets and smartphones."

1. practical and newb friendly, yes. open and with decent TOS, hell no
2. devs creating pc apps... what the eff are pc apps? pc takes care of REAL programs, x86

The guy is an executive, just like any other executive for any company will talk up their products, of course talking down of your competitor's products shows that the competitor probably has something that may be better.

A good businessman talks up their products without dissing the competitor.

[citation][nom]carbon12[/nom]That is because on OLED displays full black is off... no backlight, no power consumed. Conversely, a full bright white screen uses more power than an LCD of similar size.OLED color accuracy may lesser, but it's uniformity is higher due to no side lights... there were still complaints on the iPhone 5 that you could sometimes see light bleed on the edges of the display.[/citation]

the only thing i miss with all my current monitors and tvs... the color black... none of them get a great level and i cant afford or justify a full led matrix backlit tv that can offer good black levels.

Really? you have iphones out there with home share and video issue just to name a few issues and your talking about OLED?

For one thing a faster CPU/GPU and more ram can create a better experience and always will. Second OLED is the future of displays and is more reliable which is the real reason why he doesn't like them since they break less and that means less money for them.

Awhh, the kid has spoken. Statistics show that people with your attitude must have gone through a hard life. I tell you this, if you need friend to talk to, I can always be the one. I'll always be there for you, soon-to-become friend. :)

[citation][nom]mobrocket[/nom]FYItim cook most users dont know or dont care what an OLED isthey just want a certain screen size[/citation]

Well its true that people don't care about OLED or else why would dey buy Samsung, but this time Tim Cook is correct....OLED Display has some sort of Greenish Shade and is the worst display i have ever seen in terms of color. Apple, Sony, HTC have real GOOD Displays and their Color reproduction is natural...Now myself being an Artist I realized the difference...dont know if other people even notice this...

I think OLED screens are just gorgeous. The black levels are simply amazing (fully OFF pixels). On the iPhone 4 (which I've given away to my little sister) I was mad that every black was instead gray, never really black, and reading with a black background (which is my default for the night-time reading) was terrible (and small). On the S3 it is just AMAZING!!!

[citation][nom]alidan[/nom]and everyone trys to copy apples mentality... god this sucks for the future[/citation]
yeah, looking at the specs is what makes PROGRESS, though he wouldn't understand that, fronting a company that leeches off those who care about specs.

[citation][nom]freggo[/nom]"If you ever buy anything online and really want to know what the color is"That's a total fail argument. In my 20+ years in the business I have yet to find a single 'consumer' who asked me on how to properly set up his monitor so the colors will be actually accurate. The only folks who asked my where pro Photographers and Video people. The majority of monitors are calibrated wrong, just like most stereos have the bass boost cranked up to the max.[/citation]

and my display is colorful as fuck and speakers shake my desk *puts on shades*

[citation][nom]master_chen[/nom]Something tells me that he mistook shitty AMOLED for OLED, lol. It's a common mistake in the ranks of retarded noobs (98% of which make regular Apple's consumer base).[/citation]
Basically all current OLED screens are AMOLED. You don't know what you're talking about here.

He obviously knows nothing about OLED technology, or how it's much better than the iphone's "retina" display. Retina isn't even a type of display for gods sake. It's just a backlit LCD.

It's an advertising buzzword (what else) for a high number of pixels per inch. Their _claim_ is that, at the distance people will usually use these things, the resolution is so fine that the human eye can't see the pixelation.

So an LCD, a plasma display, an OLED, or any other display with discrete pixels could be a "retina display," if Apple made it.

My eyes have always preferred a very small pixel pitch, so for me this kind of display has an advantage. But that's very much a matter of personal taste. I bought my own Android tablet before the "retina display" came out, and one of the two deciding factors was the smallest pixel pitch that I could find.

So just because it doesn't mean a particular technology, that doesn't mean that it's meaningless. Pretty darn close, though. But "Fine pixel pitch" wouldn't sell as well.

No wonder Apple stock is dropping. With a CEO like Mr. Cook it's amazing that there stock hasn't fallen further. Plain ignorance.
