Sounds like its the perfect accessory for the average phone drone, they don't move the head from the screen so knowing when to swap shoes have to be hard! Heck seen peeps use the calculator to add 10+10 so why not this? With wireless in it to reports the wear out through a notification on the iphone and its perfect for the sheeps w/o brain too!

And yeah for the average IQ person this sounds like a bad joke but Apple seem to think its great for their followers, hard to guess what they think of their IQ =P

It's an Apple news article and fresh out the gates are the people that have nothing better to do then to comment without thinking.

Do you know what this patent is for besides the basic information that was provided? Did you click the source link? Did you do a patent search to learn more about this?

Or truly are you jealous that Apple patent something that you were thinking about?

I might not have anything better to do right now, but reading these comments are more humorous and pointless than the article itself!

iAndrewBS - it doesn't matter if anyone else was "thinking" about this, something like this SHOULD NEVER BE PATENT-ABLE.

Get that??

There's nothing NEW about this. NOTHING! (No matter what you iSheep think.)

Now if they want to protect the "code" that has the algorithm that runs to "determine" when the shoe is worn out - they can COPYRIGHT that code. That's it.

This is like a car maker painting a car a color that's never been done before - and then wanting to Patent the CAR!!!!!!!!

But when will they come out with shoes that will tell you whether or not they are tied?

Knowing Apple, this is how it will work:
Day 2 of owning the shoe -
Tech - Thanks for calling Apple tech support, whats the issue?
Person - I just bought your iShoes yesterday and it is saying they are worn out already.
Tech - Ah, that is a common problem. You are wearing them wrong.

In other news... Apple patents the human brain. Just generically. We now own everyone's ideas ever, even retroactively, since everything is a product of human ingenuity. All youz sheeps are belong to us. Tehh planet belongs to us. Seriously. Apple needs to quit patenting shit.

Yes, becaues people always replace things when they're worn down.
How about patenting a way to kick people in the rear when their brakes are bad?
