[citation][nom]TEAMSWITCHER[/nom]First off, Microsoft will never sell an OS update for $30.00. So I think we can all agree that low number is a huge plus for Apple.I think the MacBook Air price is reasonable for an ultra-light notebook with an awesome suite of integrated applications. Sure there are some PC's with similar specs, but also a similar price and no bundled apps. The MacMini is the least expensive of the Macs. It doesn't appeal to me, but it would make a nice small server. Two out of three isn't bad... Finally, Apple is far, far, from the most retarded company that ever existed. I buy Apple stuff because I got tired of waiting for other companies to copy them... Microsoft for example....[/citation]
I hear this argument all the time. OK, so, your OS costs $30, and Windows costs $130 an OEM Windows 7 Professional copy. However, you paid $999 for a $400 netbook, $1300 for a $500 laptop, $2000+ for a $1200 computer. SAME specs. Which means, you're paying many hundreds of dollars for MacOS. It's not a bad OS, i'll give you that. Is it $600+ good? Um, no. In my opinion, it's debatable whether MacOS is better than Windows, at any price. Did I mention that I'm still using the same copy of XP I bought like 8 years ago on my 3rd computer? How many times have you had to buy MacOS? Did you pay the $600 tax each time?
What pre-installed software comes on your Mac that's so great? iTunes and Quicktime? Two of the biggest piece of sh!t programs ever? garbage... iMovie? Wow that's an awesome program... too bad a REAL editor like Final Cut Pro will set you back another $500-$600..
Also, maybe you wouldn't have to wait so long for someone to copy one of those completely useless eye candy features you call "innovations" if Apple didn't sue the pants off of everyone all the time. So what, someone copied pinch to zoom hand gestures? Waa.. What are they gonna patent next? Or how about lawsuits in general? How many times has someone sued Microsoft looking for a big payday because Microsoft beat them. You are probably the same guy that, while now you're saying Microsoft doesn't offer that much as far as integrated software, was crying and calling MS a monopoly because they "used unfair tactics" against Netscape by integrating Internet Explorer into their OS. So, Microsoft integrates software into their OS for better performance, and everyone calls them a monopolist and sues them, but when Apple does it... it's "innovation"..
