[citation][nom]ap3x[/nom]Figures you guys would go there. If they did use a die layout from Intel it was probably given to them or assisted by Intel. Their relationship with Intel is extremely deep to the point where they influence Intel's products in many cases. They are truly partners.[/citation]
There were 350M PCs sold in 2010. Intel had an 81% processor market share, meaning they shipped 283.5M cpus just in prefabbed computers alone, this doesn't include boxed products (I don't think it includes servers either, but I'm not positive). Apple shipped 13.5M Macs in the same year. 13.5M is only 5% of Intel's computer CPU volume and even less if you count boxed CPUs (I couldn't find the numbers for those). Intel and Apple aren't partners, Apple is Intel's customer. Intel could easily squash your dearly loved Macs by cutting off supply and it would barely make a dent in Intel's profits. Apple doesn't influence Intel, Intel lets Apple ride it's coat tales because it's good for sales numbers.
