Thanks to Apple, NO ONE understands what the word innovation actually means.

AAPL investors: Tim, you're still innovating, right?
Cook: Um...yeah, yeah we are...we are innovating like crazy. We're, um, we're having an innovation party right now in fact. We're up to our ears in innovation! Yeah, that's it! Hahahah....ha....ha.
APPL investors: Ok...we...just wanted to make sure.

Yeah... And you control a laughable 7.8% of the global computer market and your ipad has seen a steady and rapid decline in market share in the last 2 years. I believe you were at 68 - 69% in 2010 and are now around 48% That tells me that less than half the world thinks your product are innovative. Yeah, keep drinking the kool aid - you're definitely unrivaled...

Just wait until your share holders learn how to read and think for themselves, then you'll really be screwed!

[citation][nom]iKyunG[/nom]I don't hate Apple, nor do I like them, but whenever a company has to make a speech at a conference related to finance, it means there are many investors pulling out. So they have to quickly take out the fire before the house burns down.[/citation]

I feel the same way, not a hater nor a liker. Also, it does sound like he's trying pretty damn hard to "reassure" people that Apple is on top of the world when it in fact seems like they maybe have lost a bit of traction recently.

yeah they are the market leaders of innovation,
i should learn from them on how to tell my teacher that "dog ate my home work"
apple is the innovation leader in coming up with believable excuses for not doing its work..

The only innovation I see from Apple nowadays is marketing and tax evasion, hardly any worthwhile products.
Already every American is born with a debt of 52.393$ (national debt / capica) yet Apple see fit so screw them over further by not paying their taxes - What a wonderful "American" company...

Innovation, according to Apple's leader, is ultimately achieved through skills and leadership.

Wow, the US Army must be innovating like CRAZY. Silly me, I thought innovation involved creativity and vision. If Tim doesn't even understand where innovation comes from, then he's not going to be able to lead Apple to achieve it any more ably than a blind squirrel could find an acorn. Less so, actually.

Quick edit: That wasn't meant as a slight on the army in any way. I'm just saying, they've got infinitely more skills and leadership than Apple will ever have. And the fact that Tim doesn't understand the origin of innovation is both startling for me and frightening for APPL investors.

I think someone at Apple needs to look up the word "Hubris", innovation does not exist in a vacuum, their innovation's rest on the shoulders of others just like everyone else.

iPod .. not the first MP3 player

iPhone .. not the first smartphone

iPad .. not the first tablet

They took existing ideas, refined them and brought them to market. They get kudos for this, but the rest of the world has not been static. At this time most innovation in many of these technologies is being led by others, proof is seen by the iterative releases of the phones/tablets over the last few years with nary a major advancement.

At the end of the day, the most creative and innovative thing that Apple has done was not the iPod, iPhone or iPad. It was building those devices and providing a simple method to obtain content via iTunes. If the original iPod didn't have iTunes it would have been no different than the competition, and Apple would have faded away since the iPod/iTunes brought their business out of bankruptcy (along with a couple hundred million from Microsoft).

Now tell that to iSheeps...they'll stone and crucify you.

[citation][nom]BigMack70[/nom]bwahahahahahahahahahahahahttps://www.youtube.com/watch?featu [...] yWSEwKPo8sThe only area apple has innovated in recently is the area of patent trolling.[/citation]
Dude! I was thinking the same thing! lol
