I have a relatively high end machine here but the apps take quite a while to launch. im using high performance plan, with all drivers and windows itself updated constantly. this delay thing hasnt been here for only a couple days or after an update, but for quite some time. i havent reinstalled windows in like a year or so but i keep cleaning my pc. the windows drive (ssd) has more than 50 percent free space, and the hard drive is defragmented frequently. the issues is mostly visible when opening explorer. it takes like a second or two to open a simple explorer window while no other apps are running while youd expect a 980 pro to launch everything in an instance. also my boot time is like 15 10 seconds which feels a bit late.

my specs:
tuf x570 pro motherboard
ryzen 5800x cpu
5600xt gpu
980pro 512 gb ssd
4tb western digital hdd
32gb ram (2 16gb trident z sticks overclocked to 3600)
water cooled and no overheat experienced so far.
750w tuf power

do you think i should do a windows reset or sth to turn back the feeling of a fast windows machine back on?

After opening the explorer, is a second explorer window faster?

Run userbenchmark.com and post the link of the result
maybe the second one is a bit faster
here are the results

try running Magician on the Samsung NVME - https://semiconductor.samsung.com/consumer-storage/support/tools/
benchmark didn't finish checking drive
try running this on WD drive - https://support.wdc.com/downloads.aspx?p=279

well i did do a windows clean reinstallation right now and everything was obviously faster. but the problem is that i install too many softwares here and there, maybe not too many, but a lot of softwares run in the background. i do disable startup of the ones i dont want. i use custom themes (ultrauxthemes) and wallpaper engine, maybe thats why windows gets a bit slow. although with this spec i dont think those apps would make a problem. anyway here is the magician benchmark:

SMART tests in Magician might show health more. try the diagnostic scan page

the startup programs shouldn't cause a delay if it is after start-up. Not unless they are buggy anyway. Can depend what they are I guess, but in most cases all they do is slow down CPU and use more ram.

Only ones I normally stop are Steam as it wants to update games as soon as started, and a few other programs I just don't need loaded with windows

even with 32gb of ram it can be noticeable loading stacks of things at start

I did a full diagnostic scan using magician, it found nothing to repair and was all fine. what else do you think i can do to improve this situation? its so disappointing you know, spend all that money on sth like this and this is what it gives you.

have you got the Samsung nvme drivers?
Nevermind, they don't apply to 980 Pro. Wonder why
Does it still have the delay now?

I been using pc over 25 years, they much better now than they used to be.
yeah it is better but i feel like it will need changing again soon, like frequently, like car oil :/
i really love setting a new windows up again but i dont always have time to do it freely

I try to avoid reinstalling windows, even though it only takes a short amount of time to get it, its all the applications that can take time to get in the right places again.

let us know how you go.
did you grab newest chipset drivers? https://www.amd.com/en/support/chipsets/amd-socket-am4/x570

i have been updating every driver using asus armory, it showed me this:
https://postimg.cc/gxmF89pd/2529fe5a

and then i went to the link you sent and it showed the version is 4.06 sth. why is this happening? is armory crate not a good source to update my drivers? i feel dumb rn

Asus get them from AMD, but aren't always fast to update the drivers for their motherboards. So its possible Asus make changes to drivers, so you can keep using armory crate if you like. They should update drivers given time.

Also depends on age of Motherboard, they don't keep updating drivers forever, mainly for newer boards. Not sure when they might stop for X570, since X670 is only new... probably a few more years.

BIOS update could help if it returns,
You could be on 4005 since its release date is 5th Aug & your BIOS reports as 10th Aug 2021
Newest bios is 4403, its only 3 after your current one
