I got only 27k on aquamark.....and i'm thinking that's a bit low considering i have a athlon xp 2600+, msi kt3 ultra 2, 512 pc2700 ddr, and a radeon 9700 pro. i'm using cat 3.7, and my gpu and cpu are both running at stock.

That does seem low. Maybe you had AA/aniso on in the ATI control panel? If so turn them to applicatoin preference (duh!).

I just got it and ran it and got 42,060. XP2700 @ 200x12, 9800 Pro at stock.
I still have to run it with the card oc'd, and maybe some more CPU OC'age:)

yeah, that does seem slow. I just got 40k with a 2700+, a7n8x, 512 pc2700, and a Radeon 9800 pro with cat 3.7 at stock speeds. My specs are a little higher, though I would guess that's not the difference between our scores.

What brand of RAM are you using? How many windows services do you have running in the background? Latest BIOS? Etc.

Post your compare link too, it may be useful.

Good point, though you would think a benchmark such as this would be able to detect that? Otherwise couldn't you artificially inflate your score by setting Aniso to 2x or off through control panel? Just a thought.

Also, just OC'd my 9800pro to 423/383: 42,500 (stock 40039)

Interesting... Looking at your CPU score... 5722 (2600+) and mine... 7045 (2700+).

Seems like a rather large discrepancy.

I have no idea on high Aquamark should be
but my Xp2000+ has 5047 as a score, and Graphic Card ..oops, mine is an old 8500LE, is 1704, overall score is 14586...so yours is still much higher than mine..
oh btw, I use the same mobo..

I get lots of artifacts with the memory at 380 in aquamark 3. I think I've run the memory too high or high for too long, it used to be fine at 380 in almost everything, now I usually can't run at 380. I'm wondering if the myth that ramsinks don't help is true...
It is 80 degrees in my room though:(

i remember at one time seeing benchmark comparing the msi kt3 ultra2 to another motherboard with the same chipset, and the msi board got like 3/4 the performance of the other mother board.

I think the CPU Score is very bandwidth dependent.

Running a Tbred at 2100 Mhz (150 * 14, ~XP2600+) w/ an SDRAM motherboard I only get a CPU score of 4732. My other scores are AquaMark=15,923 and GFX=1914.
