I'm sorry if this is a stupid question or has been asked before. I just wanted to know if any and all DDR4 laptop ram sticks will fit into my laptop which already has one 8GB DDR4-2133 SDRAM stick in it. I just wanted to buy another 8GB ram stick. Is it safe to assume that even though they look different, that they're all basically the same and would fit? Also, does it matter that I'm using different brands or does my set need to be the exact same make and model? Thanks in advance for the response guys.

Solution
Don't worry its asked all the time the sizes of the ram in ddr4 for laptops are all the same its just that if you want to run your laptop at peek performance with no issues its highly reccommended that you get the same sticks or just any matching set of sticks. If you get another stick that's the same form factor and also non ecc unbuffered then you should be fine. Just be careful not to mix non ecc unbuffered memory with ecc memory buffered then you would lead to a no post situation.

Thank you for the answer Matthew, I didn't even know that unbuffered and buffered memory couldn't be mixed. I was just going to stick with unbuffered regardless but that's really helpful for future reference
