I keep seeing random articles saying that GPU and Memory prizes are returning to normal. However, I see the contrary on Newegg and Amazon websites. What is happening?

I ordered components to build a computer. They are arriving. Have not opened any boxes except for the computer case. Total cost is about 5K. Should I return these components if their prices are going to drop by over 10% soon?

Given the 30 days return policy of NewEgg and Amazon, does it matter whether I try out the components first or just return to them unopened?

You're in Analysis Paralysis mode.

Too many choices, new upcoming choices, and rapidly changing prices.
No one can get inside your mind and make a choice that you will be 100% happy with.

Pick one path, and go with it.
Today.

Otherwise, you'll never end...

You're doing it again.

If you want real 4k @60Hz....go through a GPU.
If you don't want to buy one now...suffer through the unimaginable personal affront of the plebian 1080p.

Why would you need 4k@60Hz for productivity? 3840x2160@30Hz works just fine for watching movies and videos.

I saw some youtube videos that people demonstrated cursor/windows lags under 4K@30Hz. I also plan to do 3D CAD work. I read that if I use a 4K TV instead of a monitor, I will need to find one that supports 4K@60Hz with Chroma 4:4:4 for sharp text.

People were doing detailed 3D CAD work long, long before 4k was a concept.

Yup, I remember seeing it done on black and white Macintoshes.

I remember opening CAD files for the Shuttle, on my IBM XT compatible. In 1989 or thereabouts.

Or more recently...been using Rhino3D for over a decade.
Used it just yesterday, while verifying measurements for a bookcase I'm building.
