Are featherdusters safe to use on laptop exteriors?

I was planning on getting this lambswool feather duster for my room as well as dusting the outside of my laptop, is it safe?

Do these dusters build up a significant amount of static electricity, and if they do is it ok for it to discharge on the laptop from the outside?

Just worried about what exaclty happens if any static electricity does discharge on the screen/case, would it be like nothing happened?

I'm guessing it's only bad if it discharges near ports.
