going to buy a PS3 next payday.

Never liked the xbox. The controller is very uncomfortable.

If you get the chance, try the original Xbox controller. They are pretty hard to find nowadays as they were replaced by the "S" controller shortly after release. They are much bigger and bulkier, and I had to slide my hand up the side to reach the black and white buttons (button layout was different too). They caused cramps after a few hours.

I have. The size wasn't the issue. I am 6 ft 03 in. I just do not like the button layout. The Playstation controller just feels right.

Well, I wasn't 6ft when I originally use those controllers, so that probably contributed to the problem  The S controllers were much better, but I agree that the PS controller is nicer. It's much more symmetrical, rather than having thumbsticks in odd places.

The mouse is the best controller of all time, although console-wise, I agree Sony is the most comfy and they were smart by keeping their controller layout consistent. I'm planning to get a PS3 when FF XIII comes out, since I find my Wii lacking in games now. Hopefully I can find a decent used 60GB version in ebay, so I can play some of those PS2 games I've always wanted to play. 😀

@ Psychosaysdie I haven't gotten past page 2, but C2 stepping Phenoms can still hit 4.0ghz easy, though a bit past the safe voltage limit for me. I idle @ 40+C°, while load is capped at 54.5C°. However, I find it strange that while I set my BIOS for 1.5375V with no offset, during idle CPU-Z reads 1.52V (normal, since it's idle), but when benchmarking/max load it goes down to 1.512V and stays there. Does anyone else encounter a lower voltage reading during load?

Edit:

CPU-Z readings:

It doesn't matter. Having a hammer, gold star or whatever doesn't mean crap if you are giving bad advice to somebody.

People should generally wait for advice from a variety of sources instead of believing the first high-rated source that might actually just be as clueless as they are.

That's not to say the system is awful, fact is if you actually got 10 'best answers' then you must at least have some clue. Yes even you upendra 😀

At one time BM. myself and prolly only about 5 others here in the forums stood in the face of the Intelfanboi millions and held them off with rusty swords.

/Lord of the Rings music plays ...

Led by one of the old mods here called turpit ... his merry minions heaped scorn and personal attacks on us at every turn (Sauron et al).

turpits pets ran rampant on the forums and could do no wrong.

Mind you BM use to post quite a bit of um ... halftruth from time to time ... but I liked the guy for his cruel invective, scathing wit, and zany sense of hmour (Gandalf reincarnated).

He could also be a tosser from time to time ... just like me.

Even though the AMD products were sub par - I felt duty bound to protect the poor little underdog.

I put that down to the Psych training I did (no goats were harmed).

You skipped out on one of the best systems of all time. The Dreamcast. I tend to mix the Mega and Master system up sometimes. Damn naming scheams.

As for the XBox, I respect it but I loved the original XBox controllers. Even when I was 14 (about when it came out) I had huge hands and am only about 6'04". It was nice to have a controller that my hand didn't cover. It actually fit.

Just like my old MX 1000 Logitech mouse. Was large. Got the G500 and its a bit smaller but man its amazingly smooth. 5700DPI FTW.

That post was for the benefit of the old timers ... we plan to call ourselves "the unbadged" or "unfettered" ... possibly dance naked around a campfire (or a Pentium 4 if wood cannot be found).

You should stay inside and have a cookie and some warm milk.

A P4 wont work. Need a Pentium D Prescott core.

Up, unless you knew who BM was you cannot say a thing.

It must have been a funny thing to see their reaction to not only sucky performance, but the TLB bug as well.

I'm surprised he was capable of so much disruption, on AMDZone he just comes across as the typical idiot AMDroid who lacks a third digit in their IQ.

My account over there was suspended ages ago ... just doesn't work.

Since I wanted to keep the same username as here (and elsewhere) I just ditched them.

I mailed them ... no response.

They had some nice articles in the past and I don't have any bad things to say about them either.

You better start showing that Green love, boy.

Imbibe the Kool Aid.

Well I am sure your pushing into at least the 45th percentile Chad ... being an intelfanboi and here a total of about 5 minutes ... and oh so much to say ... and so little time to read and listen.

Unless you had a previous account ... something to do with nails?
