Not exactly, if I were to put these three in order of quality of products in the past 2 years....
Asus ( has Always been expensive but has always had the longest life for it's products)
MSI ( Has been a cheaper alternative with a variety of goodies and features and least compatibility problems)
Gigabyte ( Have come out of the blue, once one of the worst mobo companies, seems to be getting the price they want even with millions of issues that everyone seems to be having, it's got something to do with their color scheme I guess)
Asrock ( I never did and still don't trust them, though they have something to do with Asus but it's 2 different faces)
I have used and still use many Asus boards they're high quality and literally some might outlive me. I got into using MSI boards only with the 790FX-GD70 and that blew all the competition away in terms of everything when it was introduced, check out the Big Bang Marshal etc etc.
These guys may not have those many models out there but every high end mobo, relatively cheap, has stuff that really kills the competition , everything seems to be right where just one would want it, price, looks, size, heat, etc etc.
But it all depends on what mobo are you looking at.
Asus boards also come with a lot of non standard goodies, like NB/SB Fans, Mem heatsinks, VGA-HDMI jacks , Disply panels, etc etc thus the price increase too.
