Question Are my specs really that outdated?

Hey, I've thought about upgrading for quite a while now, with newer released titles needing mostly more and more from my CPU and GPU. But as my time around the computer is often spent playing CS and League, with fps around 100 it's been doable. But as newer cards have been released from both Intel and Nvidia, now might be a good time to upgrade, and games such as Arma Reforger seem to need some better specs to be running comfortably, but I'm not certain. I am going to try and follow this forum-recommended structure: *How to Ask for New Build or Upgrade Advice*

Budget Range: 600-800$

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming is really the only thing.

Where I am not familiar with pricing and market where you are, here in the US a decent lower end system is quite doable on an $800 budget.

IMO you would fall into a spot where either 5xxx AM4 or maybe able to do a Ryzen 5 AM5 rig. Plusses and minus would be that AM5 is DDR5 where if you opted to go last gen you could re-use your RAM.

It might be worth checking on BIOS updates for your current mobo to see if it would support something like a 5600X. I would not recommend going higher on that A chipset, but if you did that you could free up a good bit of cash for a nice graphics card and a quality PSU. This should carry you into the future a bit such as to keep an eye out for a new mobo/CPU/RAM combo later on this year or early next, etc.

The first thing to remember is that the 1xxx series Ryzen are NOT Windows 11 supported. So you need at least a 2xxx series CPU just to continue Windows support after this year. A 5600X would be an inexpensive upgrade that would provide Win 11 support. Your 400W power supply will limit your GPU options.

I would do a bios update, and upgrade to at least a Ryzen 7 5700x. The 5700x3d is another option if the pricing isn't a huge gap in your area. After that, PSU for sure should be upgraded. Then you can get your GPU.

Weirdly in Sweden the 5800X is cheaper, but I still like the lower TDP of the 5700X for an A series board.

Probably want to come back and talk GPUs after the launch of the lower end 50 series cards. Though a 4060Ti fits pretty well in your budget:

I went with a smaller CPU cooler since you didn't list a chassis. We can revisit that if you can identify it, or measure from the base of the current heatsink to the side panel to get max CPU cooler height.

It would not be a great idea to put a 5700X on that A320 board. There are stacks of videos discussing the issues with VRM overheating on that one.

Very outdated, for 600-800 you can build a whole new platform though it depends how much you’re wanting to go.

1) you can’t OC on that motherboard. You can upgrade to something like a 3600 or 3600X for cheap (at least here in the UK it’s about £50-70) and it’s pretty much a BIOS update away from being a drop in.

2) I’d up the PSU to a 650W unit minimum which will run you about 100, again UK prices I don’t know where you can buy things in Sweden.

3) This you plenty of budget for your GPU, you could get something like a 4070 but that would be massive overkill for esports. Maybe look at something used like a 3060Ti would be a MASSIVE upgrade on a 1050Ti for under 300.

Your other option is to rip out your entire system but it wouldn’t be as good in value for money as you’ll lose £200 (again UK pricing) on a solid MB and DDR5 RAM plus you’ll need a more expensive CPU.

The 5700x3d, yea probably not the best for that board. The regular 5700x is a 65w chip, though. It's power consumption isn't much more than that of a Ryzen 3 3300x, or a lowly i3 12100f.
