hey guy's,

I am wanting to build a new pc but i have an issue where i can't find a cheap(ish) motherboard to come with my cpu of choice (ryzen 5 3600). I also don't have a cpu to lend from anyone to flash new bios. So it has to be supported out of the box. Any help would be appreciated.

Being assured of Ryzen 3600 support 'out of box' means looking at one of MSI's 'MAX' board lines.

For the cheapest, I'd go looking for one of these:
  • A-320M-A Pro Max
  • B450M-A Pro Max
  • B450M Pro-M2 Max
  • B450M Pro VDH Max
  • B450-A Pro Max
What is your budget for this board, BTW, and where will you be shopping?

My Budget is around €75 for the motherboard, I am also considering getting a little cheaper motherboard and getting a 2700x because I will also use this pc for my photo/video editing but also for gaming. I think the extra cores will come in handy with the photo/video editing. can you (dis)confirm this or am i just thinking wrong about it?
I am shopping from the Netherlands b.t.w

Going for a 2700X opens up any B450 motherboard for consideration. You should find retailers that sell in your area and just look through their stock. You don't have to select an MSI MAX board (since assured compatibilty with Ryzen 3000 isn't important) so if you can find a non-MAX by MSI you might find a bargain too.

But one thing to remember is a 2700X is 8 core/16 threads and somewhat less power efficient vs. the 3600 previously considered. So selecting a more capable motherboard in terms of power delivery becomes even more important and that's where the Tomahawk excels. But if you can find an MSI B450 or B450m Gaming Plus you'll get very nearly the same capability.

I see. I myself dont know how to see if a motherboard is good in power delivery, do you think one of those will be a great motherboard? those are some cheap choices in my country. if there would be a better one you can find in the netherlands for cheap (€75)

From that list, I'd go for this one right here:

It should be fairly low-cost too.

Another good choice would be MSI B450M Gaming Plus. Whether or not a MAX for a 2700X processor. I don't know if it's readily available in the NL though, sorry.
