I guess you can kinda tell from things like this review the fans had to be turned up manualy to test noise

''During our game testing and most of our benchmarking, the Gainward GTX 980 Ti Phoenix 'GS' was silent. It was only during our sound testing where we manually cranked the fans to 50% and 100% that the card was making any noise

so under normal operation they may not even spin up that much

may need to contact grainwad s support
these cards should have the -0- fan thing where the fans are off intill the card reaches a certin temp like 60c then the fans rev up to start cooling

older cards that did not have that most times at idle the fans spin at about 20-30% and increase as it get hotter

max temps of 75c is fine and you see more common under air up to 85c

seems like if this card is a zotac they did have issue with there fans ??? you may need to look that up [???]

37 is totally okay, it comes aswell on your room temperature. It could aswell be the Thermal compound is slowly drying out and acting as an isolator instead of thermal conduit. I say it´s all good. If you really wan´t to improve, you can unmount your fan and replace the Thermal Paste with high quality one, making sure you undust the fans. Cheers.

A good cheap Thermal paste would be the Artic MX-4 or the Noctua NT-H1

It's a gainward card. And while the fans are at 20-30% it stays around 60C . I used to idle at 24C while the fans where at 100% but that was at winter. (its summer for me now ) I guess the room temp takes part here.

You bought it since 5 Months. This card was probably produced 1 or maybe 2 years ago

Thats true , also thanks for your time . Just wanted to be sure on the temps

temps look fine , but being at 100% fan all the time to me is not [opinion]

heck a 3 fan card should cool well at 35% speed my old air card with 2 fans cooled to 68c at 33% fan at full loads

be sure your monitoring tool /program is not glitching that can happen and be misreading the true speeds

also try a program like MSI afterburner and try to set your own custom fan profiles as well -- with that you may find your card work and stays as cool with far less speeds and that's less fan noise as well

What is your ambient temperature? I have an EVGA SC+ 980 Ti and at idle with 100% fan speed, it doesn't go above 32 even in the summer, or the crazy hot winter we are having right now.

If your ambient room temperature isn't the cause, I would check the inside of the case for cables which are blocking air flow. Be sure to also check any dust filters on case vents and clear them off.

Your max temperature looks fine, maybe even low if you are playing games like Witcher 3, Crysis 3, or Battlefield.
