Are these cables enough for xfx r9 280?

Hello guys i have a XFX ts 550w PSU. There are 2 PCI E 2+6 connectors. My GPU needs 6+ 8 pin connector. But the original wires from my psu are only 5+3 wires and then they turn into the connectors. Im worried that it wont power my gpu. It does have sufficient amps. The 5+3 wires then turn into 6+2 pin connectors

You've got everything. plug the 6+2 into the 8 socket and the other 6 in leaving the +2 one dangling or tied back

Thats 550w XFX should power a 280 just fine and it has the proper connections.
