I have:
  • Pentium dual CPU E2180
  • Asus GT730 2GB DDR5 low profile
  • DDR2 4GB RAM
Is this enough to play pre-2015 games?

Depends what games. Basic games will probably be playable but high-spec AAA games of that time are unlikely to be. Both are old, entry-level parts, but the CPU is extremely old, from 2007, and it wasn' t running high-end games that well even when it was new.

Picking a year is a poor method of determining game compatibility. You'll need to look at individual games and find games in which you're at or above the minimum requirements.

Possible list of games which I think might run on your system. Some games might require a sacrifice in image quality, so don't expect a mind blowing performance on that Pentium/GT 730 system.

Though, you need to confirm and test this on individual basis. This list is not exhaustive though, and it also depends on what type of gaming genre you prefer playing.

Also, 720p resolution would be preferable for most of these games, even 1080p in some cases depending on what graphics settings you have applied.

GTA Vice City and Liberty City
Need For Speed Most Wanted (2005)
Max Payne 1 and 2
Project IGI 1 and 2
Counter Strike 1.6, Condition Zero, Global Offensive
FIFA 08, 10
Age of Empires 1, 2, 3
Half-Life 1 and 2
Call of Duty 1, 2, 3.
Hitman 1, 2, 3
Assassin's Creed 1, 2
FAR CRY 1 and 2.
Total overdose
Tomb Raider(2013).
Postal 2.
Return to castle Wolfenstein/RTCW and also a bit of Wolfenstein (2009) based on settings
Splinter Cell series (older titles)
Just Cause 1, or maybe even 2 on low resolution.
Battlefield 1942 Vietnam
FIFA 14
Age of Mythology

Heretic 2
Hexen

Original DOOM series games
No One Lives Forever 1 & 2
Quake 1, 2 & III
