I love flying ... its the takeoff and landing I hate.

I fly 3200kms each fortnight for work.

Scares the bajeezus out of me even after doing 20 or so swings on the F100.

I don't like flying because: I don't have control of the situation. If for some reason the plane malfunctions I would be helpless in helping... I was also 6 years old when 9/11 happened and being 6 and watching it on tv (over and over) I tend to think about that stuff from time to time... I guess I'm a land lover haha

That's probably part of my problem ... plus a few weeks ago they blew a tyre landing and going a bit sideways at 300kph isn't funny ...

I wasn't. But since I had two emergency landing I don't feel that save anymore 😉

I know its a bit of an old thread, but i dont like flying. But, i have had to fly a lot for work, and the more you do it, the easier it is. I would also suggest loading up a flight sim and flying a ton of hours on it. That has actually helped me, now i know whats involved, it kind of eases things a bit.

Went up in a helicopter the other day, my first time in one, IT WAS FREAKING AWESOME!

Was up front with the pilot!

Amazing vehicle with what that thing can do, no fear what so ever, just 100% pure excitement!

Cool. Just so long as it's not one of the ex-military ones that have poor track records with falling out of the sky, they are generally pretty safe.

Cool. Just so long as it's not one of the ex-military ones that have poor track records with falling out of the sky, they are generally pretty safe.

It wasn't military it was a privately owned copter, it was amazing how smooth the ride was and what it could do.

Hovering like a Hummingbird, 360 rotation, side flight while hovering, plus the pilot showed me how the controls control everything, it's a complicated flying machine that's for sure.

I felt like a kid at Christmas!

And at 62 years old, those feelings are few and far between!

I've been afraid of flying before my first plane expirience. You just need to get over it.

I'm not afraid of flying in fact I enjoy it more than I have words to explain. It's falling out of the sky that scares me...to be exact, that sudden stop at the bottom...

Nope, just hitting the ground. Notably I was thrown off a building when I was in elementary school by some bullies.

Oh balls. I can relate to the bullying but i've never been thrown off a building, down a flight of stairs yes, but never off a building. Some people suck. sorry you had to experience that.
