Hey guys,

Recently I bought this exact card, https://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/MX74258

so all the specs and stuff should be there and I checked a lot of reviews and did tons of research on a TON of different types of RTX 2070 cards and all of the reviews, including Tom's Hardware give this card a pretty positive score:
https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/asus-rog-strix-geforce-rtx-2070-o8g-gaming-gpu,5930.html .
https://www.techspot.com/products/g...-rtx-2070-rog-strix-oc-8gb-gddr6-pcie.191027/

https://www.amazon.ca/GeForce-Overclocked-Type-C-Graphic-ROG-STRIX-RTX2070-O8G-GAMING/dp/B07JFYT2KD

All of those have a minimum of at least 4 / 5 stars (which
I knew about the early accounts of artifacting and eventually just dying out on the early editions of the card. Now recently... I don't know if it's just some random troll, but on Newegg, a bunch of people are coming out and saying that the card is just garbage and only lasts a few days/weeks/MAYBE MONTH and then dies:

The only place I can really find horrible reviews like that is on Newegg, so the facts just don't add up. Did they just get a bad batch from Asus? Is it some kinda prank? Anyways I literally JUST bought the card today, and my buddy sent me that link so I have a max of 7 days to return the card (unopened still) and get a full refund and I'm wondering if you guys think I should. Thanks for taking the time to read this.

First be aware of what the warranty gives you, most electronics will fail within the first few months of ownership if theyre going to fail, so if it does make sure you can get a replacement.

Seems like 2070/2080/ti's have a little bit higher failure rates than past cards. Reviews don't tell the full story of the quality/reliability of a product, but seeing negative reviews would be concerning to anyone.

If you are concerned, go get your refund, and buy a different card instead.

I think at this point I'm less concerned about the warranty and all that and more concerned if I should trust the multiple different website reviews that give it 4.0 and above or just trust the Newegg reviews that give it an average of 3/5 but lots leaned towards the 1 star section. Do you know what I mean? Like do I take the word of Newegg members and all their reviews or just go with what other websites have been saying.

Was hoping to get some people on these forums that have an ASUS 2070 ROG Strix OC edition that can give some feedback considering Amazon "claims" it's the #1 selling GPU on their website.

Yeah i understand what you mean, and I would still circle back to that a few reviews or opinions won't tell the whole story, there are too many variables that are unknown.

The review articles that you listed often get one or two cards to do all their testing with, so the odds of them getting a bad card a pretty low. Versus newegg/amazon where you have hundreds to thousands of people buying the one product so the odds of getting a bad card, or putting the card in a bad system are much higher.

If 1% of cards fail, you bet that those 1% are going to leave a review, while the 99% will continue using their new GPU.
