Hello,
I currently have a "ASRock 960GM-GS3 FX" Motherboard and wondering if a AMD FX-8120 8-Core Black Edition Processor Socket AM3+ - FD8120FRGUBOX would be compatible with the Motherboard. I am looking to upgrade my processor, please help me. I am new to computers. Here is the website to ASRock and I know I am a noob but your feedback will be greatly appreciated. Also, here is the link to the CPU I am thinking of buying (if it's compatible) http://

Computer Specs
CPU: AMD FX-6100 Zambezi 32nm Technology
RAM: 8.00GB Dual Channel DDR3
Motherboard: ASRock 960GM-GS3 FX (cpu socket)
Graphics: ATI AMD Radeon HD 7900 Series

Solution
yeah it will but you need that model of the processor as your boards frequency runs at 3100 which is the same as that processors frequency, and yeh hes right its a nightmare to find lol

thank you so much.. I was just worried if the black edition would be not compatible. Do you have any suggestions on which CPU i should get. Sorry I am new at this. Thank you so much for your reply.

Bummer I can't find that version to purchase anymore. This motherboard sucks lol.

Errr i am confused now lol. So this Processor
will be fine?

I think they are both the same. One is in the BOX and the other is an OEM.

That why you can't find the other one for sale. 😛 I could be wrong might want to double check.

Hmm ok, damn these CPU's are so hard to find. I'll try and find one on ebay, hopefully there is one.

they'll all the same just different product codes at the end of the day it will work its an 8 core processor, and it am3+ which that motherboard takes, looking at product codes just complicates matters, just buy it mate it'll work
