I just bought all the parts for a new system and put it all together. I booted form the Windows 7 Home Premium DVD and installed Windows. All went well. Next, I put the ASRock driver disk in and did the default "Install All Drivers" option. I agreed to the UAC and it started installing. After about a minute, it re-booted on its own and ended up on a screen that was asking me to "Generate Serial ATA Diskette? (Y/N)"
I chose no, and it immediately went to a blank screen, and I even got the "no signal" message on my monitor. I waited a few minutes, nothing happened. I shut it off, restarted, and I got an error from the motherboard (before it posted). The error, which I didn't write down, and I don't remember what it said, gave me the option to go ahead and boot by hitting Enter. I did, and it went back to the same screen before with the "Generate Serial ATA Diskette" but this time, I chose yes. Again, it went to the blank screen, no signal, and nothing.
I restarted again, now when I power it on, there is absolutely nothing. The power comes on, the fans spin up, lights come one, but nothing ever happens on the monitor. No POST, no nothing.
I know all the hardware is working because I went through the process of installing Windows, and everything went as smooth as it could go.
So, any ideas?
